I am a tinkerer. I probably spend more time putting around my garage than watching tv. Anyways, I found part of a pallet in a corner of my garage. I had several that I used for various projects and this was the last of them.
It just looked like it was about the right size and most of the work...
I have been on hydrocodone since my neck surgery on April 19th. At first I was taking about 5 a day, which left me in a stupor. Now I'm down to one at bedtime. I do ok all day, but am still having a little trouble sleeping. I am healing fast though and am hoping to be done with them altogether...
Just finished the strat...I'm gonna wait until after I'm done with these pain meds before I try another. LOL. It was fun. Felt good to focus. Difficult because I'm ham fisted.
I tell you what, I have had deminishing use of my right hand since January. That's meant no riding my motorcycle, playing guitar comfortably and no shooting. All of my hobbies have been taken away. Although I was apprehensive about having him cut a 2 1/2 inch slit through the front of my neck...
I just ordered the strat. Figured I'd start small since I'm medicated. Standing at my work bench has been keeping me sane this past week, and I'm running out of things to tinker with. This should help pass the time.
The freaky part is they go through the front of the neck! I've got a pretty gnarly incision which I suspect is gonna be a rough scar, that's about two inches wide near my Adam's apple.
I had neck surgery on the 19th, and now...I feel pretty damn good. They removed the disc and added a titanium joint with a polymer ball thing, so I have a little more mobility. I was walking around a few hours after they cut on me. Now I have to take it easy for a few weeks, and it's back to...
This is relatable too. The docs here were very willing to give me whatever drugs I wanted. I had to really ride them to be aggressive. The pain sucks. The fact that all three of my hobbies are hugely impacted by this overshadows the pain though. I'm already a crappy guitar player and this has...
This is what makes me nervous. Doc said two week recovery and back to work. I ride a desk now, so maybe that will help? Everyone else I talk to seems to share a three month recovery time. I don't think I can deal with three months out.
Another update, I am scheduled for a Discectomy and fusion in April. I have been through injections and Physical Therapy. Both offered minor improvements at best. The pain is decent. No real complaints there. The issue is the numbness and weakness in my right arm. The surgeon feels that if we...
The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars is one of my desert island albums. It's an album I listen to start to finish. Lots of heavy, Mick Ronson goodness.
