20 something currently. I don't have pics of all of them, but these are some of them. The most recent is the '83 Gibson Spirit, '90 LPC, Eastwood Breadwinner, and the rosewood Telecaster thinline.
The Telecooder!
The electronics are the same as Ry Cooders, Cooder Caster, but the vintage sixties strat... Let's face it, you wouldn't chop up a vintage strat to make a dedicated slider out of it either! When Ry Cooder did it, it was probably worth three bills... The guy that built this...
Call it what you want, I still thought it was a "What a jerk" comment and your most recent post, is an opinion, not a fact... You know what they say about opinions?
If everybody put their stuff up for sale for what their absolute bottom line was, they would be shooting themselves in the foot...
My '73 Hard tail in Mocha Brown. Oddly, all the parts date to '72 (except the finish, which is a '73-'80 colour, and the 3 bolt neck plate). It weighs less than 6 lbs. and is by far the best Strat I've ever owned...and I have had a number of them...
I paid 2 G's for it (about 2008 I...
I think like any guitar, you can get a turd or a real trophy guitar from any of the 70's era Strats. I have a '73 (That is made of all '72 parts) hard tail in Mocha Brown that is all original and it's the best Strat I've ever owned.
These seems to get heavier as the years go by. I had a '79...
I don't see any point in trying to sell these pickups here since this For Sale thread was sabotaged, in spite of the POSTED RULES on making negative comments concerning the price of the item for sale.
Yes, they have the logo and it's hand written on the pups that they are not for re-sale. Next time I have the chance, I'll remove them and take pictures so you can see them.
I can remove a pole screw just to check it out, but what I saw in the brass screw holes of both the pickups all looked the same. If I remove a pole screw and it turns out to be black, it would confirm that one coil was black, but if the pole side on a zebra set is always black (Maybe someone in...
Rouby Rouby ROOO!
Well, I am going on what I can see...which wasn't much, but I had some real good light on it. I wish there was a more exact way of checking, but I know what happens when the covers come off...and I don't want to pull them...I figured the person who bought them could have that...
The covers have been on since I got them from Big John who got them from the maker.
If there is a way to tell what they are without unsoldering the covers, I can take the strings off and take them out far enough to tell what they are, but I really don't want to remove the covers if at all...
I have an early set of these Pepper pups that have "aged" nickle covers. I received them from Big John who, as many of you know, was an early endorser of W*B* pickups. These pickups came from the Redding, CA shop before the manufacturer got busy and all the "stuff" happened. You can verify all...
Hell I have a pair of brass nuts! :wow:
One of them is squared off and easy to insert on a Tele or Strat neck (Takes place of nut that is there...) to raise the action a tad for playing slide...
The other one is just a standard Tele/Strat brass nut.:D
