Oh WOW ! Beautiful ! For that money it would want to be that stunning.
Our dealers sell them for between $7700 - $12700, that depends on if you want a Murphy's Lab relic model, that's USD calculated on today's exchange rate, you guys are so lucky to have so many choices in USA.
Maybe the sprayer's gun just ran out of red paint ? , then thought "that doesn't look too bad" & left it as so ? The owner did say that the colour under the guard is the same. Yeah that's a long shot I know.
Bummer dude ! Try a WD40 product called Dry PTFE Lubricant on the nut, yes, goes on wet & then dries into teflon powder, I also use it on the bridge, cover surrounding areas with a cloth.
With everything I've read so far it sounds like the neck is straightening, while you play ?
A drastic...
Yep, if only you could have a mix of the two.
Guitars are like a lot of things that are produced by a combination of man, tools & machines.
Choose anything as well as guitars, let's say cars or large power tools for example, we all know that the same model, two in a row, even the same colour...
Jees mate !
You scored well both times.
The first one was beautiful but the second is off the dial !
I know the feeling of once you play something & like it, it's then very hard to part with.
All the best with the current one mate.
Thanks for your reply, here are some more pics, obviously I'm in the process of doing the frets & then try to cut & polish some bad scratches out of it & replace the tuners with all chrome Klusons because three of are unserviceable.
I like the gold hardware but it doesn't wear very well & I'll...
Thanks for your reply mudface, the only things I can add is yes, it does have an ebony fretboard, obviously it's wine red colour & the aforementioned gold hardware, I've read that this is a sought after model, it's a bit heavier than other Studios I've played too, 8.8lb. Any idea what the...
Hi guys ! I don't have initials in my TRC but I do have something "unusual"? in the neck pup cavity, notice the "LPS" in handwriting, doesn't seem unusual, the "custom" stamp(s) is confusing though.
This is a 1992 model & has gold hardware, does this mean that the gold hardware makes it a Les...
Yeah ! Ripper deal ! I could land one down here in Aussie after import tax for a cool AUD$30,000.
The clincher is Reverb are NOT charging the usual AUD$300+ delivery to us down here.
Ok now seriously, if someone like Joe Bonamassa buys it that's fine coz he'll play the bloody thing !
Yep, every price rise is a bummer, this might make you feel better, down here in Aussie, we pay 10% import tax on top of the converted $USD to $AUD plus anywhere from $200 - $300 for shipping ! Custom Shop LP's here are about $8000 !
That's a lot of bloody money for a guitar here !
A "normal"...
It's truly beautiful !
A friend of mine bought one new (his dad paid for it) very similar around 1975, non pancake great playing & sounding axe.
A few years later he swapped it for another LP, I said he was mad then, I say the same to him now.
We were 16 years old then, now we're 62, he's had...
Yes mate, pots, caps, & new wiring make a big difference too.
I recently installed SD's JB & '59 pups into a 1972-3 Greco LP that has the "Gneco" on headstock, pancake body with chambering & bolt on neck
The friend I did the job for says he couldn't be happier, the original Maxon pups were good...
