Actually I also ordered some aged knobs from Crazyparts but unfortunately they didn‘t fit so I had to send them back.
For sure I will add some more parts but I think I substituted the most important ones already
Thanks - I am really happy with the result even if I still like the Tokai a bit better. I guess it‘s mainly because of the „hotter“ pickups. The Lazarus sounds more vintage and the Tokai like a Lazarus on speed… :dude:
She‘s back…
I really like the aged hardware and pickup covers. After professional setup and fret adjustment including sharp fret ends she plays way better.
Also the Faber parts improve sustain and attack significantly…
I think we should look at the Lazarus in a realistic way:
1. is the Lazarus a good guitar - YES
2. are the specs comparable to some higher priced Les Pauls - YES
3. is the quality out of the box at the Epi on a comparable level with Gibson, Tokai, whoever? - NO
- sharp fret edges an dull frets...
Nice Heritage… :yesway:
I remember Gary Moore playing Heritage on his last hardrock album „After the war“
Same thing happened to me - after I got the Lazarus I had to have something more impressive and I got myself…
Don‘t get me wrong; I still like the Lazarus and I am sure it will be...
As the hardware is chrome i wouldn‘t expect it to age the way nickel hardware does.
Main reason for me to change the hardware was not only the look but also the quality of the faber hardware and the expected sound improvement.
Im addition I ordered aged screws for the pickup rings and for the pickup height adjustment plus „Art of aging“ tophat knobs.
Unfortunately the aged pickguard bracket is currently sold out. Well I think i can live with the glossy one for a while
Today I received the aged Burstbucker covers from Crazyparts. When unpacking I thought that there is no huge difference but when putting next to the original ones the difference is clearly visible.
I think they will go well together with the aged Faber hardware.
I was thinking about the topic again - OP says the guitar was in the case for 3 month so we can assume that UV radiation was not the reason.
Meanwhile I have the feeling that the reason might be the case or better saying the materials or glue used in the case. Maybe we see an effect from...
