Im waiting for my helix and my helix native demo expired so I was messing around and tried this setup into my v30 cab. This is a usable tone, but not really practical. End of video shows what’s powering it.

A bit of a story. I’ve been with the company I work for for 36 years and I’ve been at my current position for 30 years. My boss wanted to do something special for me so he contacted my wife and asked if they could send us on an all inclusive vacation. My wife, being the angel that she is said...
It’s sort of a rangemaster with a bc108 and a couple of output cap options on the switch. Plugged into the normal channel of my old Traynor with a Les Paul and it’s magic.
Here’s a clip of what it does for the 12 bucks
My kids are all grown up and out of the house so my wife surprised me over the holidays and said let’s turn the playroom into a studio / jam space for you. I’ve put up quite a few panels to deaden it. It sounds great right now. Before and after pics.
I’m sure I’ve had less od/distortion pedals than most people here but I’ve had some good ones. Screamer, bogner blue, ocd, soul food, Alexander jubilee, dod... trying to remember. Been through a few over the years.
Was just tinkering and I found the readily available schematic for a Timmy v1...
Wanted a 212 for an EVH style rig I’m going to be using if and when the band starts playing live again :dunno:
It will have the 2 weber 1225Cs that I got from SoulTramp years ago. My Traynor is basically a 50w plexi. I copied the filtering and fizz cap values from what’s out there about 12301...

Needed a smaller combo because I lost access to the amp that was at our jam space and I don’t feel like hauling a head and cab every week. I’ve tried the other popular options for this purpose. Had a modeler then a Katana but they just sucked for me trying to keep up with real drums and the bass...
After my son playing it for the last 5 years or so I have the Daisycutter I bought from Randy 10 years ago back in my posession. We swap gear back and forth fairly often and he was home on vacation with the amp which he had mounted into a combo. I plugged into it and had forgotten how amazing...
With a cool sound guy who kept telling me I crank it up more if I wanted. Best stage volume I’ve had in a while. Everyone could hear each other and by all reports the FOH mix was great. It just adds so much when there’s good punch up on stage.
These are always a blast. I'm a bit nervous because they're forecasting a chance of thunder showers and crazy hot. The stage is in a big enclosure with a roof but no walls so I'm bringing a fan to blow some air over the tubes and a plastic tarp in case the weather hates our band :(
Running my...
