We have a $1000.00 a month car loan for 48 months no money down no payments for 60 days. Only have 41 months to go. I know what some of you are thinking but......

We were prepared to pay cash but when we bought our new vehicle in December they were running a 0% no money down finance incentive. The dealer offered a competitive sale price on the vehicle we had already decided we were going to buy. We left our money in an interest bearing account out of which the monthly payments are made with autopay.

See???
It’s possible buy a new car the smart way, but NO ONE actually does it.

Good on ya’!

Have I mentioned the broke-dick dumbass deals the young guys I work with do on new trucks?

BWAHAHAHAHA!!!

99% interest for 99 months.
Shit like that.
I’m exaggerating only slightly.

Several guys here 25 and under.
All making well over $100k/year.
Spray money everywhere they go.

If they had put it into a regular Mustang body or named it something else it would have been awesome...a 4 door Mustang or Camaro is just a bridge to far IMHO.
I get it, and I agree.

Galaxie or Fairlane, they historically did 4 doors.

Hybrid (non-plug-in) makes the best sense to me...
We picked up my wife's new car today and that's what she went with. She is just not a fan of range anxiety and charging hassle, and this is the vehicle our family will use for most of its road trips.

The drive home was 200 miles and we got 35 mpg - pretty damn good for an eight-seater of this size.

I had a 67 fairlane, 2 door hard top that could have qualified as a rat rod these days.
Then I had a 67 Galaxie 428 convertible. I will post pictures later or tomorrow. Just found pictures of the Galaxie.

I've said it for years that hybrids make the most sense for most people. Congrats!

My total for both vehicles is about $1000/mo, 60 months. 1.9%, that's less than my mortgage and WAY less than my 457 YTD gains, I'll take it.

Now imagine a hybrid version of the same vehicle.

My '16 Corolla had a 1.8 with a CVT, I averaged about 33. I never found it lacking in power, but it wasn't exactly "quick"... and it struggled pulling the grade out of Ft. Stockton into a head wind.
The '21 Avalon has a 2.5, is bigger, heavier, nicer overall, a LOT faster (climbing a grade if I'm not careful I find I'm pushing 95), and I average 47-48.

1.5 and CVT.

33 miles per gallon all day long with the cruise set on 80.

That's decent.
Cruise on 80 and the Avalon drops to 42.
Corolla would do 27 under the same conditions.

Except that grade out of Ft. Stockton to Ozona. Holy shit don't leave Ft. Stockton without a full tank.
