This topic isn't anything new but I wanted to share that right now there's a decent screwless option to mount a pickguard on a Les Paul. I bought through Amazon, looks like they sell on Reverb too, It's from "Simple Living Style" and pretty easy to find with a "screwless pickguard les paul".
It works fine, is very easy to install and uses your own pickguard. Of course there's no bracket so 'the look' isn't quite complete but it looks fine to me.
My Traditional came with no holes but had a pickguard in the case. I'll run it with the pickguard on for a while. Removal would take about 30 seconds.

You say "the look isn't quite complete", but I doubt even a guitar player who was playing your guitar would even notice. So, yes, very cool, and your guitar looks great. How does it hold the pickguard on?

Short story of how it works; the pickguard gets attached to a piece of material which is held in place by the pick rings.

Detail...
They send you a semi firm piece of material with a soft back shaped like the pickguard, a few different adhesive items, two screw heads (no threads)

-Remove the bottom screws from both humbuckers
-Slide the pickguard shaped material underneath pickup rings, felt side down
-Put pickup ring screws back & tighten.
-Insert the two fake screw heads into your pickguard, they are held in place by the provided putty-like glue, on the backside
- place three pieces of spongy two-sided tape between the underside of the pickguard and the mounting material.

If I want to remove it I just remove the four pickup screws and slide it out. This makes pickguard on/off so easy to change it's ridiculous and there's no holes in the guitar.

Yeah, pretty slick design to use the pickup screws -- Even though it is removed so easily, I don't think you'd even want to. Looking at your pictures a little closer, I would bet even a guitarist wouldn't notice the different mounting unless told first. Looks great, and, yes, I am a "pickguard on" guy. LOL

I don’t even need one at the moment (ie, all my LPs are already factory drilled), but I just went and bought one just in case I ever do in the future! Cool product. And reasonably priced. Thx for posting!

I'm going to get the kit and a 3 ply creme pick guard for a custom. Thanks for the info!
