A little Nugent song story.....

I was at a big party up in Lake Tapps, Wa packin' gear for a local band called .....Diamond Lie.....(I let you do the research)

my good friend was the singer and my other good friend was the drummer.....(still friends with both)

They played a lot of originals , but always ended their party gigs with either Rock-N-Roll by LZ or Saturday Nights by Elton......

By the end of the set the guitar player had a real good buzz going, the singer told him get Middleton up here to help close this down .......and laughed.

So I nervously got up and we did a weak version of Rock-N-Roll

Then the guitar player said "Hey don't you know some Nugent ??"

I said "Yeah" 'How about Stormtroopin?"

He let me do the intro and off we went, it actually came off decent.......everyone in attendance was hammered or happy so it didnt matter.....

He played the main lead and let me play some lead at end of song.....

When done he gave me a nice nod and said I had some good Nugent licks in my fingers......
(He was just being nice)

The guy is world famous now......
(again, I'll let you do the research)

I was lucky enough to jam with him a couple more times before his ascent to stardom....

I met him at a hunting store event probably 30 years ago when he was still repping Fred Bear bows. He was as nice and humble as he could be. Totally unlike the dude you see on TV or stage. He was only supposed to be there until a certain time but there were still a hundred or so people in line waiting to meet him. He stayed until every last person was satisfied . I saw him live twice, once solo and the other with the Damn Yankees. I still have hearing loss after the solo show. That motherfucker was LOUD

I’ll second this.
Met Nugent at the NRA Convention in Phoenix in 2009, and got my Goldtop signed by him.
His son Toby(?) was one of his handlers.

Autographed his book for me, loaded us up with stickers, and was happily chatting with me and the wife the whole time.
Personable as could be.

I’ll post a guitar pic for good measure.

If Ted was a truly nice person he'd offer vegetarian and vegan options.

As soon as I heard Ted Nugent Double live gonzo and he goes on about Nashville Pussy and in another song says "if you do not want to rock then get the fuck out if there"

You just didn't hear that kind of stuff back in the middle 70"s

That's my kind of guy

Love watching Ted out on his farm, bow hunting deer. Always wanted to visit his farm for a hunt, and then grinning and picking around the campfire, which he does for folks. For a price. Would be a blast me thinks.

I love deer meat, venison, but my absolute favorite is Moose meat!
Not as gamey as venison, very lean, and tastes like filet minion on steroids!

My daughter in Alaska usually has a freezer full of it!

One of Ted's right hand ...men... posted a cool FB live video etc on MLP a few years back, it was very cool, just like sitting in his back garage with him looking gear etc.....Byrdlands !!

The thread picked up a few haters that couldn't appreciate that we had Teds guy directly at our disposal and just enjoy the music and guitar content

The guy quit posting here after that ........it was a bummer .

@electric head

I found the initial video Ted's guy posted on MLP...

Found the thread too.......

(I'll leave that where it is)

Cool watch ....

Lots of typical Ted banter....

Lots of cool guitars

Lots of good live guitar playing...

His guy came onto MLP personally and provided link to the event and interacted with me personally......could of been cool.

Ted was very important to me for 2 reasons:

1)Ted and my Brother showed me that COOL guys could ROCK and be drug & alcohol free

2)Liner notes on the first (post)Amboy Dukes album taught me the concept of guitar straight into amp with nothing in between.

Never liked the guy or his music.

If we’re gonna go that way?
Boy, do I have a list for you!!!

There are plenty of “rock stars” out there that I don’t like for personal reasons.
And this is completely regardless of whether I like their music or not.

And there are plenty of huge and legendary bands out there that I just don’t get.
Might be cool guys, but their music?
No thanks.

And there are some that I have actively boycotted because of their repeated cries for attention in the political world.
Tell the world from the stage (that I paid for) how much you hate people like ME?
You can bet yerass I won’t put another penny in your pockets.

To all of you viral rock stars and enthusiastic fans, just remember that fucking street goes both directions.

I always liked Ted’s music. As a person? I’ve never liked him more than I currently do!
