"if its feared stolen then it is stolen"

how do you fear something is stolen?

does your jaw drop and then your wallet?

I have feared many things but I have never bought acquired or sold anything I FEARED was stolen.

Feared is was stolen, must be a temporary condition like momentary lapse of reason.

They sure stoled lots of guitars back then was they all junkies backstage?

Mick Taylor can cry me a river. Can he really prove it belongs to him and was stolen? Likely not. Dirk Ziff should send him a message to F off

That’s my thing.
I think more of those guitars were lost than were stolen. Rampant use of drugs and alcohol, people working for them coming and going, unvetted hangers-on - anyone who was sober had a huge advantage.

How many of us have packed up a bar band at 3:00 a.m. with at least one guy being distracted chasing booze or pussy?
Something always gets lost.
Packed in the wrong crate, loaded in the wrong vehicle, or just left behind.

“It would appear that the Metropolitan Museum has not acknowledged receipt of messages from Taylor’s legal counsel, and they have not responded to his request for inspection of the guitar."

Mick Taylor lived and earned with that guitar for five years. He knows it when he sees it. Do the right thing, Met/Billionaire Guy and give it back to him.

If the guy has a case?
Real evidence?

Go at ‘em.
Hope he prevails.

If not?

Burst patterns and, even more so, grain patterns, are better than fingerprints for making ID; compare the guitar to pix of Mick or Keef playing it and we'll know - but they won't do that. If it wasn't his, I'd think they'd be quick to prove it.
And I seem to recall that this isn't the first hot axe to turn up in Ziff's possession. Swiped to order maybe?

If it would make Mick Taylor happy, we can start a Go fund me page and use the money to have Gibson build him a reissue of his apparent stolen guitar. I'm pretty sure Ziff is not going to just give it away without some sort of legal fight.

Yea, Mick had to give it away without a fight and that's ok, right?

An empty case.
As the guitar was "feared stolen" without the case...

Bonamassa said a few years ago he knew where it was and who had it but couldn't tell.

He then retracted his statement.
So, apparently in the hands of someone rich & secretive.......
I repeat - not the first stolen one to turn up in Ziff's collection; any other candidates for having Beano?

If he even truly owned it. Possession is 9/10 of the law. Either way, I have no dog in the fight. I'm still waiting for my 1970's Tonka toys that were stolen off my parents back porch patio to be returned. I'm 59. so it's been 50 years or so.

Something was stolen from him,
something was stolen from you.

Mick had a '59, you're 59!
