Rolling Stones star battles museum for honky tonk guitar
Instrument was feared stolen in 1971 before being acquired by New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art

Feared is was stolen, must be a temporary condition like momentary lapse of reason.
They sure stoled lots of guitars back then was they all junkies backstage?
Burst patterns and, even more so, grain patterns, are better than fingerprints for making ID; compare the guitar to pix of Mick or Keef playing it and we'll know - but they won't do that. If it wasn't his, I'd think they'd be quick to prove it.Mick Taylor can cry me a river. Can he really prove it belongs to him and was stolen? Likely not. Dirk Ziff should send him a message to F off

And I seem to recall that this isn't the first hot axe to turn up in Ziff's possession. Swiped to order maybe?
If it would make Mick Taylor happy, we can start a Go fund me page and use the money to have Gibson build him a reissue of his apparent stolen guitar. I'm pretty sure Ziff is not going to just give it away without some sort of legal fight.“It would appear that the Metropolitan Museum has not acknowledged receipt of messages from Taylor’s legal counsel, and they have not responded to his request for inspection of the guitar."
Mick Taylor lived and earned with that guitar for five years. He knows it when he sees it. Do the right thing, Met/Billionaire Guy and give it back to him.View attachment 883943
Yea, Mick had to give it away without a fight and that's ok, right? If it would make Mick Taylor happy, we can start a Go fund me page and use the money to have Gibson build him a reissue of his apparent stolen guitar. Beano?Red Eye…
Maybe he does have a case.If the guy has a case?
Real evidence?
Go at ‘em.
Hope he prevails.
If not?
STFU & GTFO.
Bonamassa said a few years ago he knew where it was and who had it but couldn't tell.Beano?
Apparently Clapton and others know where the guitar is.
So, apparently in the hands of someone rich & secretive.......Bonamassa said a few years ago he knew where it was and who had it but couldn't tell.
He then retracted his statement.
If he even truly owned it. Possession is 9/10 of the law. Either way, I have no dog in the fight. I'm still waiting for my 1970's Tonka toys that were stolen off my parents back porch patio to be returned. I'm 59. so it's been 50 years or so.Yea, Mick had to give it away without a fight and that's ok, right?
Something was stolen from him,If he even truly owned it. Possession is 9/10 of the law. Either way, I have no dog in the fight. I'm still waiting for my 1970's Tonka toys that were stolen off my parents back porch patio to be returned. I'm 59. so it's been 50 years or so.
We all now what that means...Bonamassa said a few years ago he knew where it was and who had it but couldn't tell.
