While looking up stereo equipment mentioned by the Cheap Audio Man, I looked up some of the specs for my budget ONKYO receiver that I bought 10 years ago. No digital inputs or USB or Bluetooth or networking.
Just 50W x 2 ch, a dedicated phono input and an amp based on discrete components i.e no op amps, no Class D.
Fairly decent quality and power, and simple design. It has a pleasing VFD display and a remote.
For $95 US after sale price and gift certificate, I did OK.

I had one of those.
Talked my friend into buying one.

Great receivers... both of them gave up the ghost at about the same time.
Replaced it with a Sony, which got upgraded when I needed better HDMI options.

The auction process starts at Mom's this morning.

Not sure what to expect. Seems the most I'd be out would be $1,600, if sales didn't cover any of the costs. If they had the place cleaned out for that, I'd be happy.

Also not sure how long it will take. Seems they told me about 5 days.

I'm going to check in with them this morning make sure everything is going as we both expect.

Then I leave em at it and I don't even have to be there. They said better if I was not.

Morning, all.
Doesn't everyone wake up to hot, fresh coffee? Jeeze.
The haze is burning off. Sunny and mid 80s is the call. Yeah, baby.
Cut a little wood, work on the LP on the bench, and a trip to the bank.
The die is cast.

Monday Texas coffee on. I don't have to wait on it like Edro. I enrolled in a community college online programming class and now mine comes on automatically and is ready and waiting for me.

Few things in life are as rewarding as opening your eyes at 0700, knowing that as you are waking up, the coffee is brewing down in the kitchen.

I often ponder putting the machine on the nightstand, so I won't have to get out of bed.

But then, I realize that the brewing would wake me up.

So, no.
