Intennnnnssssse drive. Glad you had safe travels. Doing that in a couple of days each way is wild.

I lived in McAllen for a stretch during COVID, my ex's family was from down there, and I made that drive I think 3 times. But each time spaced it out over ~5 days and checked out stuff along the way. I can't imagine griding it out in <48 hours.

I ended up back in NYC because of my job, but I'm going to have to do that drive one more time at least, because I still have a bunch of shit in storage down in McAllen that I want to get back. :laugh2:

Welcome home!

Wow... outstanding... that's a marathon drive, for sure.

You are my "road trip hero". I thought I liked a good roads trip, but no.

You sir, are a steely-eyed missile-man!!!

Thanks guys.

I can handle whatever I have to. Besides the UHaul truck, we brought back his car. Wife and middle girl (24) split the driving/napping in the car. Middle girl has class today, where she is at this very moment. So we had to make it a two day trip. Her schooling is a Master's program, and they don't handle missing class well, at all.

Truck is unloaded and turned back in. Wife is in her bikini floating in the pool. I'm sitting in the A/C, catching up here.

:cheers2:

We had a really big thunder, and then I said, i'm out of here.

Looks like it was a really good setup for a nice sunset too.

Yes. From Newark through Allentown, Harrisburg, and 81 all the way to Knoxville, TN. Then 75/40 to Chattanooga, TN, where we spent the first night.

Second day we went through Birmingham and Tuscaloosa, AL. On through Meridian and Jackson, MS, on to Shreveport, LA. Afterwards, we cut through East Texas working our way home to NW Houston suburbs.

I despise the I-10 drive through Baton Rouge, Lake Charles, Beaumont through the Houston area. Traffic is horrible. There was some weather along the coast yesterday, which would have made it even worse. We would have hit some of it during rush hour. So, instead, we had an easy, no traffic, beautiful drive through northern Louisiana and East Texas.

Texas Gully-washer.

Before. That light area in the middle of the clouds is lightning.

After. What I was driving into, once I got there. Everyone going 3 MPH because it's raining so hard you can't see, and the water is ponding on the road.

But I got a bucket of golf balls hit, and then 7 holes of golf practice in first. Priorities!

Did you put the 'good' pickups back in?

Which were the 'good' pickups?
