I have to admit that when I see photos of grandkids I get jealous. It's not going to happen for Kathy and I. I was looking forward to spoiling them and sending them home on a sugar high.

Off to take Wifey to the audiologist for hearing aids.

They found absolutely nothing wrong (medically) with her hearing. After two CT scans and myriad ENT & Neurologist visits...

her only option is hearing aids.

That won't fix the hearing a D, when an E is played, in her left ear. But, it will help her with all her other hearing problems. The "one note down" problem appears to be unresolvable.

Well had a great round of golf ... shot an 80.

Then this happened on the way home.



Managed to limp home. But gonna have to figure out that nut size.

I'd rather fix it myself than send it in for warranty repair.

I messed with it a bit, but too damn hot out there. I'll wait until early morning to mess with it.

JFC.... hearing aids are st00pid expensive. I mean, like brand new R9 expensive.

Looking forward to Aug 4... that's when they arrive and she gets properly fitted.

There were a number of different options (and price points). But, the Phonak Audio Sphere were the ones that gave her the best performance.



Her audiologist (who's an absolute WOOD) is also a musician. She specializes in that.

So, we'll wait & see. And, remaining cautiously optimistic that this will be a great improvement for Wifey.

Just back from the BBQ. Bumped into a couple of guys we know but haven't seen in the best part of two years. Nice to catch up on things.

Had a great time. Good company, barbecued chicken, pork and klobása (thick Czech spiced sausage) and a couple of superb Czech beers of course. Life isn't so bad sometimes.

On another note, my defense stocks have gone batshit crazy the last two days! One was up almost 20 bucks a share, and another is up 18 this morning! Rock on!

It's been a couple of weeks since I looked at my 457, but last time I checked, I was up over 11% YTD

Edit: Just checked. +12.3% YTD

bro and SIL just booked a tour of the PU brewery there, they head that way in the fall. not sure where all they are going but the whole trip is centered around being in Germany for Octoberfest.
