I got a AmpRX BrownBox to step down the voltage feeding it.

I got it.
Intended to unbox it last night, but my domestic chores ran late.
Maybe tonight.

Two independent cat scans.
No problems found.

I've considered a 2x12" cab for my old Bassman.. with old JBL or EV...or Altec if I can find em.

That seems like 2x what it should be?

Oh i know - but i dont see a blonde bandmaster selling for 2x+ the others, in case someone finds this thread on their search.

it's not a blond bandmaster, it's a blackface AB763 in a blond cab. 2k tops. An actual blond bandmaster with harmonic tremolo and matching cab in good condition is about 3k on a decent day. That's if the doghouse has been gone through as well as the rest of the electrolytics. Those yellow sausages sound good but can be problematic all these years down the line.

But damn, that harmonic trem...

You’d think they’d put it in a bassman branded shell lol

I get the feeling that my Mesa Boogie Fillmore 50 might be finding a new home.

So to get this thread fully up to date, the Mesa Boogie Fillmore 50 did indeed find a new home.
It got traded.

All I need is this Bassman and my Twin.

(Well, I still want that Matchless HC-30…)

And the trade was originally gonna be for that elusive Matchless HC-30.

Until the Bad Cat Era entered the picture.

It’s all settled now - all I need is my Twin, this Bassman and my new Bad Cat.

I’m outta room in my 8-foot rack.
Floor-to-ceiling tube amp bliss.

Stick with me for a minute:

Get another shelf.
Separate the heads and the cabs
Stick a studio patch bay in the middle of the two shelving units
Mix and match for hours of fun and exitement

With the heads and cabs on separate racks you'll be able to fit a couple more in there.
Like an old Tremolux and 210 cab. Or a Suhr Hombre piggyback.
Or a blond bassman and 115 tone ring cab...

Always wanted a Band Master!
And a matching cabinet.

Bad Cat got in the way though…

you're probably better off with the black cat, anyway

Japanese method of construction... Build the top and jack it up a section at the time, assembling underneath it.... ;)

Back in the 70's, big bro played through one of those limited big ass Pete Traynor jug bass head from hell (SVT smoker) over two cabs all HD JBLs.... Had two handles on top toward ends... You needed six or eight damn handles with four weightlifters to tote that damn thing... Truck monkey for them in the big iron days kept you fit.... Big iron days wore your ass out....

Grab a vintage Crown DC300A sometime.... My soundco truck monkey days are partly cause for my current imitation of Snap, Crackle, and Pop, carrying a box of rocks, and walking on bubble wrap..... Just rolling out of the rack in the morning...
