Something really weird happened to that head. Treble side moved closer to the tuners, and the original tuner mounting screw holes aren't inline with some of the tuners.

I think some of the tuner shaft holes were plugged and redrilled in slightly different positions, with the tuners and top nuts covering the old holes.

For some weird reason my intuition says a big dog chewed on the edges of the head and they took a rasp to the edges to even it out. Then because some of the tuners were too close to the new edges they plugged and redrilled some of them. Or something like that.

Yes, good observation, it’s been through a few things. Possibly canine-related :)

Low E and A tuners have been moved inboard 1/8” at least - dark discolouration near those tuners probably something to do with the plugging process.

Too much weird shit going on with that guitar for my tastes. Several really bad decisions, one after another.

Now, if we knew the stories?
Might be a different deal.

Character / mojo / patina ?

The story might be that it’s a great player, and the oddities are the side-effects of someone trying to keep it going, probably on a tight budget, after various incidents (dog-related or otherwise) and general wear and tear.

I’ll never know, but I’d like to think so.
