That ain't going to work, Dave. The shed is made of wood and that fogger shit will soak in. There is no way I am going to advise that. My life depends on it. :hippie:

Bullshit. The fogger is not going to "soak" into the wood. It's going to kill what's living, and dissipate off into nothing. The smoker wood being removed, will get none of it. And no residue is going to "jump" onto the smoker wood. C'mon now. You could even get real fastidious and hose down the inside of the shed if you want.

Unless you want to gear up, leather jacket, motorcycle helmet, gloves, etc come in with a bat and beat ass on all the wasps, you don't have a choice.

In the end, it's about killing the wasps. How you wish to manifest that is up to you. It's either mild chemicals or a beat-down.

You could also smoke them out. Take a mini-barbecue and light a few coals. Let any flames burn down so it's just smouldering. Put it inside, close the door, kill the wasps in a few minutes. But then you have to smash all the mud hives or they will return.

You don't have a lot of options.

One possible is to spray the hives with citronella oil and run like hell.

(one of the many little side-gigs I did years ago was have a Pest-Control Licence)

Do you think the chem industry hasn’t figured out foggers and residual safety?

You can use them inside your home.

Yes. Common sense strikes again.

The pesticides normally used in such things are carbamates and pyetherins. really dangerous shit like sevin isn't even used anymore.

Foggers are safe after an airing-out, or there would be lawsuits galore.

Shit, when we lived in the Valley, people would get their entire houses "tented and fogged" for termites.

Never saw that before... it flipped me out.

They'd come out and cover the entire house with a big, fucking tent. Bizarre as fuck.

I'm 100% certain all those people have cancer of some kind today.

Now I wonder if this is yet another "dilemma with no way out" attention thread like the tape-recorder debacle of the will being read to his son on the "good morning Mr Phelps" Mission Impossible tape recorder, where good, solid advice was given and (as usual) completely ignored, or the Seattle heat-wave where 15-odd ways were given to beat the heat which costs next to nothing, but were totally ignored.

Because suffering trumps solution, every fk'n time.

Viable solutions are offered. But that gets in the way of dilemma. Because with workable solutions, the dilemma (and the attention that goes with) is over.

fk'n solutions.

Again, there would be massive lawsuits. What is used in a tenting is ten times stronger than a household fogger and specifically for termites, usually for a real estate requirement after termite inspection with a house sale. Oftentimes, the house is unoccupied for weeks.

Wait until dusk. Wasps go in to the nest and rest at night. Less likely to be buzzing outside.

What I have done successfully is dress in a nylon or other rain jacket ( with hood).
Long pants tucked into sox. Gloves. Bandana.

Take a large garbage bag and a tool, such as a hockey stick, garden spade, or even a flat board. Go in the shed.
Pry off or knock the nest ball into the garbage bag and seal it up.

If you want to, stick the bag on your car exhaust pipe and run the engine for a minute or two. Problem solved.

Tell your friends go to a garden center and buy a fake wasp nest paper ball and hang in or outside the shed. Wasps are territorial and won't go where they think a colony already exists.

This is exactly how beekeepers do it. They want to preserve the bees.

I say go in there with a whole pizza. Size the pizza to the size of nest. Pizza must be bigger. Make sure it's cooked but not too cooked as you want some flexibility. Quickly wrap the pizza around nest and make it into a bee panzarotti. Then lower it into a deep fryer.

Delicious !!

Just so you know, all of the options offered result in you getting stung. Well, except the one where you hire someone else to deal with it.

Wasps aren't going to sting you if you don't fuck with them. You can be within 2-3 feet of them, and they will just continue to go about their business.

But if you don't want them, then any attempt at eviction they will see as aggression.

But this is why God gave us brains instead of wings and stingers. Because we can make our own way to fly, and we can make our own way to kill.

So use the brains God gave you and apply common sense.

We have some evil creatures down here called bald faced hornets. They hunt humans for sport.
