Walls and stands, mostly in my home studio. A few (less valuable ones) at a practice space I share with a group of people. A few in our bedroom, one in my den/home office, one in my office at work.

One on consignment at a local shop.

My acoustics are the only ones that stay in cases when not being played. We have an old house with temperature and humidity fluctuations seasonally that can wreak havoc on a lightly built acoustic.

I have two old acoustics that are wall hangers in my office.
A 1969 Rokkoman, made in Japan.
(D-28 copy)

A 1980 Guild dreadnought, Maple body.

All but one or two sleep in their cases, like vampires, in my music room. I rotate guitars every month or so. I take one out and the one that's already out goes back in its case. Because I have a dozen or more guitars, every time I pull one out of the case for rotation, it's like NGD because I haven't seen it in months. They're safer in the case than anywhere else I can think of to keep them. Currently, I'm playing a Collings C10G Custom acoustic which is laying on the couch next to me waiting to be picked up again.

I never really worried about this.
It’s been many years since I had small children in the house, and I never allowed pets to spend much time indoors.

Now I have two cats.
Well, one is still a manic kitten.
I don’t dare leave a guitar sitting unattended on a stand.

We can have unpredictable spontaneous shaking from time to time that can be violent. Guitars on walls COULD hit the ground at my house. Cases are safest for my situation. We also have two cats. The don't bother the guitars but an open case on the floor is an open invitation to chill in the case. They've never done anything to my guitars.

Yeah, that’s another subject of endless discussion - hanging guitars on the wall.

I don’t do it.
Other than the two acoustics that weigh nothing and aren’t worth a lot of money.

All of my electrics are in a rack or a case.

When they’re not being played they mostly stay in their cases.
I do have a 5 guitar rack/stand, a double stand and several single stands.
More than enough for all my stuff.
But I don’t have a good place to leave them out.
Sometimes I will leave them out for a day or two, if nothing much is going on at home, and I might be playing one or more.
I enjoy the process of taking them out of the case and putting them back, it’s part of the experience.

I don’t have wall space to hang them.
Most of that is used for shelves, furniture, etc.
Plus, I’ve never been into that.
I do know music stores do that all the time, but they’re designed for it.

Talk to anyone who has spent a few years running a music store, and asked them how many guitars have hit the floor.
There’s 100 ways for it to happen.
And the result is never good.

I like looking at my guitars as well, but I can do that just fine with them sitting in the racks.

Hey, it is a risk.
If someone wants to do it with their guitars, that’s up to:them.

Downstairs in the music room in a case when not used. No point putting it on the Hercules stand when not in use as no one see’s it. Better safe and in case. Less humidity drift that way. Case is laying flat on a table so it’s 2 second job taking out and putting away.

The ones I play the most are on stands and next to my amps. The rest are in cases. I don't actually have a case for every guitar, I am slowly correcting that.
