NGD!! A Couple of Days Late

Just got this one Monday from a guy in Raleigh, NC. Most of you here aren’t gonna like how I got it. I traded my new Les Paul for it. I’m just a Fender guy at heart and I have been gassing for one of these bad. I drove 4 1/2 hours one way to get it too. I just could not resist it. It is a Fender American Vintage II 1961 reissue in fiesta red. I’m am super happy with it and even though I lost some cash value in the trade not to mention the time it took to go get it I am so glad I made the trade. Here are a few photos of it.

Beautiful Strat, man! There is one of these exact same models at my local GC - same color and everything - and it's the staff's favorite guitar in the whole store. All the instructors use it to teach lessons and it's the first one they grab to demo amps and effects. It sounds incredible.

I wouldn't feel bad about that deal. As far as value is concerned, I don't think you got hurt. Resale wise, probably. Real value in a piece you prefer and love, not enough to think about. JMHO.

And I wouldn't worry what people make of your decision - if you're happier with the Strat than you were with the LP then that's a win

Those are two very different guitars.
No shame in having a preference.

There are plenty of Standard 50s and 60s available on Reverb for under 2K, so there’s not a huge gap in the values of them and your new Strat.

I have several guitars, but Fender and Gibson have always represented the greatest number.

Not a Strat guy ( wish i was!)...not going to change technique at this stage...but i really like the bridge cover.
