Got tired of working with the pool place salt recommendation. Their tests seem about 400ppm higher than my salt controller shows. Problem is at 2400 ppm my salt cell stops making chlorine, and flashes low salt at 2800. They stop trying to sell me salt when theirs says 3000. The last test showed no chlorine, and their salt said 2800, so no shit. I added 160 lbs of salt to get my salt up to around 3000 ppm. And guess what ... no warning lights and it says generating.

The electronic chlorine tester I got, has never shown any chlorine. Not so sure it works. I'm going to grab some Clorox Pool Test Strips this morning and see what those say.

Those will also test CYA, which needed boosting as well.

We shall see.

Coffee and breakfast for now.

Also no word yet on my golf cart bag attachment and/or MSO (what I need for a tag). Hopefully today.

I bought a small 2-person spa.
We used it a lot for the first year or two.
Heater unit started leaking and we just shut it down. Need to cut it up and get rid of it.
It was always a PITA... will never own a home with a pool.
I haven't even used the HOA pool, it's always been a maintenance nightmare.
We have a better pool guy now and it's not as bad, but still a hassle.

We're in our pool everyday. I can't imagine a summer here without one. The first summer here we didn't have one and ended up staying inside most days. That was enough to get us to put the pool in. They are a fair amount of work, but more than worth it for us.

Oh yeah! We do too.

I used the HOA pool too. At least at the OKC Townhouse. That was usually just adults and not crowded very often.

My wife is doing her dead-level best to embrace this “country girl chic” thing.
She wants to make a pool out of an 8-foot round galvanized livestock tank.

I’ve seen plenty of people do it, and it’s a thing online. Still requires a pump and all of that madness.
I’m not very enthusiastic.

Good morning Y’all.

Having some good coffee and resting. I got my #2 of 2 Shingles vaccine yesterday. My arm is sore from my shoulder to the tips of my fingers. Also every joint and muscle is sore. Kinda like the flu but no fever or nuffin. Pretty much the same as the first dose. But sure beats getting shingles!!

I gave my salt cell generator for the pool an acid bath yesterday before the shot, to get the calcium off of the fins. 3 green lights again!

All told, I may spend a little under 2 hours a month doing maintenance on the pool. Not bad considering how much we use it.

Time for more coffee, advil and some couch time.

We found that one of these makes it a snap.
Best 3 bucks I’ve ever spent.

Cooking up some breakfast for the week.

IMG_5256.jpeg

Don’t have to go far for the eggs.
Just the other side of the barn.

IMG_5257.jpeg

2 pounds of sausage, with some chili powder and paprika, and a big splash of roasted salsa.
15 eggs.

Split it up into servings approximately of 12 ounces, and stack it up in the fridge for the coming week.

breaking in the new camp chef pellet grill.

ribs is the first light after break in and grate cleaning.
it also does the sear thing and has the easy ash dump which is quite brilliant. found this weird model that was exclusive to Sportsman's (great store!) for $499. the models CC has on their site with these features is $999. i am in love.

Looks awesome!
Use it in good health Bubba!

Now that you live down south, you qualify as a Bubba! Albeit a transplant Bubba, but a Bubba nonetheless!
