I don't care. I didn't buy all my instruments to look at....

Gears are good until they're not.

Replace 'Gears' above with pickups, bridge, stop, nut, strap buttons, pots, caps, switch, poker chip, strap, pick guard, case, etc. etc. etc.....

I don't buy an instrument with the intent of changing a bunch of shit.

My exceptions are basses. They'll get high mass bridges and ebony ramps.

If it ain't broke ...
My understanding is that historically the runners Gibson used did not work very well. And the stock tuners did not hold tune well and were poorly made. This folk upgraded the guitars tuners with Grover’s. Kind of like folk use to have Les Paul deluxe pickup cavity and replaced mini humbuckers with full size humbuckers
. Player upgrades that made the guitar preform better for the player.

I'm just wondering if anyone actually keeps those klusons on their les pauls. I noticed I seem to consistently take mine off and replace them with grovers. I also had a close encounter when I snapped off the button and the shaft(?) because it was too flimsy. I did end up fixing it though.
100% changed out for Grover locking.

I had the original Kluson tuners on my Gibson Les Paul Standard for over 20 years with no issues at all. I only recently swapped them for a pair of Kluson locking tuners just to make string changes quicker.

I absolutely love and prefer the looks of my Klusons. And now that I found their Revolutions, I'm hooked.

But … but … but … :run::facepalm::420:

I think of it as optimization.
I look at a guitar, and I think to myself -
“You know what would be cool?”

It’s like Barbie, for men! :naughty:

I like the stock tuners on my Les Paul Standard 50s but I also like Grovers. I think they look cool on the 60s models. I have a set of gold Grovers I took off of an Epiphone Broadway and replaced them with Grovers with the fancy art deco buttons that I am waiting to put on something that needs better tuners. Haven’t needed them yet though.

I bet the Grovers on my Epi Junior aren't the same Grovers that are on my Tribute, but maybe the same as the ones on my cheap Gretsch.

I left them on one of mine that came with them and replaced on the other. The replaced ones went primarily because they were that snot-green color and I didn't like the way they looked, but no issues with the function of them at all.
