Good Sunday morning.
Ours is a bit better as well. Everything is very well watered.
No major plans....yardwork...maybe a ride if it stays clear.
...and I've actually played some guitar lately....yeah, more of that.

I'm pretty sure I'd no longer be up to doing it by myself anymore, but I sorta miss my canoe.
It lived at a bud's place on the water, and one day it grew legs.
I miss my Grumman canoe also, but like you, it was getting hard for one guy to handle. Sold it for a kayak, but it's just not the same; no long, smooth glides on the water, no large capacity, and couldn't take my wife along. Had it for years and portaged it dozens of times in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area. This is a trip to the Eagle Cap Wilderness in Eastern Oregon a few years ago.

Reason #328, why you never take connection flights…

Our flight is going to depart 2 hours late.

Sucks for us, because I want to go home.

Really sucks for people waiting along with us, however. They are going to Omaha. Their connection is dead. The next flight with any connection is in 2 days.

They are trying to reroute them somehow. I have my fingers crossed for them.

I’ve slept in airports before. It’s fucking blows.

Only ever did it once. I was in my early 20s and got hooked on Italian soccer. Treated myself to a ticket for the Milan derby (AC Milan in their pomp - hands down the best team on the planet at the time). Couldn't afford the train to LHR so went on the coach the night before and slept at the airport ready for the early flight.

Brilliant adventure and great fun to do on the cheap in your 20s. Wouldn't even contemplate it today.

Thank God for the USO. Back when I was in the service flying standby on leave, many airports had USO lounges when you could sleep, snack & read.

Kayaks are super platforms to mod I think.... My idea of outriggers, though small, improves stability, load carrying. Simple shallow anchor system that weighs nuttin anchor and free in a couple seconds....clips to hold the fiberglass rods.

Must pondor on these kayaks....

@DavGrape - that’s why I love living in the sticks. I can wander my entire place in my tighty whiteys, unless I walk the 1/4 mile down to the mailbox.
Even then?
There’s not much traffic out here.

Loved canoeing growing up and as a young adult.... Loved the peace and quiet..... Free to think without distraction...

Early commercial and especially traditional kayaks, I didn't like at all and had zero interest. I remember Pop posting pics of his and I was intrigued that it seemed the industry had read my mind on some dislikes/distrust I had...

My brain works like it works, can't help how I'm wrapped... I looked at the early kayaks unfavorably. I saw the length and beam was not ratio'd to the weight in it. It made no sense. The rolling to me was interesting but the ability to roll was an issue re: if you can roll it easily to get back upright then the sumbitch is too easy to roll... A little math can make it so the sumbitch WON'T roll... Increase the beam and alter the contours and ratios.

Lots of science has jumped in the mix. Wish there was a head-on shot... They've looked at a LOT of big boy designs.... If you squint you can see it... Brilliant.

I've told my wife if or when I build our full retired crib, it'll be a Front Porch Pisser....

"A what?"

I can piss off the front porch, in my underwear, and there is nobody with a mile to see me.... She told me I was antisocial... I told her I wasn't...I just didn't like most people... ;)
