Actually ,the quest for donuts can at least put you through a windshield.

Started off nice. Feeding cats, squirrels, birds. Yoga class opening up crown chakra. Chiropractic with Dr. Greg.

River is high. Rt 29 . Trenton looms. Cross bridge. Mrs.FEZZ seems sad. No pool today. Rain. Muggy.

I know the cure. DONUTS.

We drive to rt 13 Amish market. PACKED! I was lucky to draw 11 people in my prime. 11 people outside smoking!

Abort mission. Go to Ack a Me. I tell Mrs.FEZZ I played at the dive bar we pass.

Yeah, played with ShyBoyz, gay gimmick. Played too long. Boring.Male lap dances.....

I was great. Only 7 people where there. ORANGE STRAT into junk Fender ss 100 Champion. FUZZ pedal.

Pass welfare apts. Almost to Ack A Me when.....

OH NO. DOPE KID PASSING DOPE IN BIG TRUCK....DOPES IN MY LANE!HEAD ON COLLISION MUST ACT....
Luckily,I have superb reflexes and I don't freeze. I blitzed to small shoulder.....dang close to HEAD ON..

We pull into lot. Mrs.FEZZ is scared.

No worries. No blood. No ER. Just a pimply kid trying to impress his gal. Not our time.

We buy 6 donuts. All is well. Never bemoan " almost" accidents, poor form. LOVE YOUR ALMOST DESTROYER.

I hope DOPE KID and DOPE IN MONSTER TRUCK both get some tail tonight. No hard feelings......

We are staying in tonite. Bad juju or is it good juju? Are we invincible or vulnerable? Let me ask the Batman Oracle. It is like the Magic 8 ball from 70's,you shake globe/ batman head. Ask questions.....then look into inky substance and answer appears.

Batman, should we stay in tonight or tempt fate?

Shake Batman head.

Need more info.....

Batman,that is your answer?

Shake Batman head again.

Better luck next time.

I think we are staying in tonite. Who knows? Maybe a comet will hit the house? Life is nice, so many questions. Death/Life both want satisfaction.

Maybe a parody of Looks that Kill? Donuts that Kill?

She got the donuts that kill......

or
Quest for Holy Donut ......Brian Eno type washes. Concept Donut album.

Once,I would eat 4 donuts at one sitting with 16 oz of whole milk. Now,one donut. One 8oz glass of raw milk. I prefer non pasteurized. Real milk taste. Bryce Harper also prefers rawmilk,he is also a Mormon.

More I think of it donuts may be Evil. I'm going to ask Batman Oracle later.

After being ambushed by Wilford Brimley, I can't have sugar but one thing I do miss is the plain old minimally sweet cake doughnut.... I didn't much care for any of the fancies, just plain old generic cake doughnuts... Boring I know with no Creme de Beetus poured all over it and a half pound of sprinkles, pixie dust, and unicorn droppings, but damn they're good... The browner the better.... I liked em a bit crunchy on the outside too...

I like the butternut crunch (I think that's what they're called). Market Basket makes the best cake donuts I've ever had and yes, they have the glaze of beetus on them. So good. I can eat half the first day and the second half the next day and it's just as good.

Dunkin Donuts is a New England icon but has lost its way. They used to make them fresh on site at every store, now they're shipped in from centralized plants. Not nearly as good, and frankly not worth the calories. The only exceptions are the strawberry frosted and the maple frosted.

We have a family-run bakery in town, Crosby's. If you're ever in Nashua, NH. they're one block off Main on East Pearl St. On Sundays, they have adult donuts, make with real liquors.

My beloved Koffee Kup Donuts, from Vermont, closed because of Covid. Just plain shut down. They made an orange cake with orange glaze. Absolutely the best boxed donuts I've ever had. I had only discovered them in 2019 and they were gone from the store in 2020 and gone forever in 2021. If I win a lottery, I'll find the owners and buy their recipe and revive them.

True story. One of the first cooking series on UK television in the 1950s/60s was by Fanny Craddock and her husband Johnie.

On one programme she made donuts. At the end Johnny said: 'And may all your donuts look like fanny's!

True!

Doughnuts are evil. Especially since most places around here give them free to LEO. If I was gonna be bad Ill go to the local crispy creme.......Glazed are just pure evil goodness. But I havnt had one in......2 yrs maybe? My birthday is next month Ill probably have a cannoli . They are my favorite next to some spanish Tre Leache cake. But no more Happy Tuesday! For me. Special occasions only.

Cannoli. I love those. One of my all-time favorite movie line is when Clemenza says to Michael in The Godfather "Leave the gun. Take the cannoli." Dang it, I was trying to not think about them. I just had a late dinner and am trying to talk myself out of going to the nice Italian place and getting an order of them.
*phew* just checked their website, they're closed. Managed to dodge that bullet.

I really wonder .

"Yes, donuts can contribute to inflammation in the body. This is primarily due to their high sugar content, trans fats, and the deep-frying process, all of which are known to trigger inflammation".

while not definitive, lots of evidence to support this statement, and it's effect on arthritis sufferers (especially elderly, with confirmation of arthritic disease). Damn.

I love plain cake doughnuts dunked in good coffee. Nothing better in the morning…..if you don’t care about your health or weight. I get them no more than once a week.
