Fun to watch a talented woodworker..... Draw knife is one of em...... Watching a guy square up beams that were logs less than an hour before is amazing.... They can work a draw knife of any size.... Damn things are sharper as hell too.....

One thing you notice about the old school woodworkers is there is no hesitation in what they do. They have already thought it out and once the pull out a draw knife, chisels, hatchet from hell, stay out of their way. They can do more with those tools than you can with a chainsaw, band saw, and a CNC.... Ain't their first rodeo....not by a long shot...

I knew a no-shit retired rocket scientist.. He turned wood. That was his life. He would drive all over the region looking for downed trees and such that were deformed, twisted, etc... He loved working any genome burl wood.... Incredibly talented.... Mind blowing bowls.cups, etc. he turned... works of art...

The car got a clean bill of health - and I got a big bill to settle. Good news from a safety perspective, but I think I'd advise any youngster these days to train as a mechanic rather than risk an office based job that will likely be replaced by AI before they retire.

Spotless workshop more like an operating theatre than an auto shop. Overalls on the operatives were cleaner than a surgeon's scrubs. Computer gizmology as far as the eye could see. And charges rivalling a two day stay in a boutique hotel. It's certainly not like the oily backstreet garages I used in my younger years.

I'd probably feel better if I'd stuck to the 50yd range,:laugh2: Couldn't hit the side of barn at 200yds today.:rofl:
But had the place pretty much to myself for three hrs, and the weather rocked.:applause:
Time for a cold one, and make a bit of noise before she comes home.

Compressor controls.
I hate computers.

And this is what 4,000 horsepower looks like. 3600 series Caterpillar V-12.
Only turns 1,000 RPMs WFO.

Did you learn that one Dav? I did it by watching the Live in '85 video. Based around a G chord played in the D shape barred at the fifth fret. Took me ages to get it right but it was a staple of my cover-band's set for years after that.
Crazy that Copeland and Summers went after DS for a writing credit because Sting's "I want my MTV" was too close to "Don't stand so close to me"

cellular companies are the devil.
Ain’t that the truth!

That’s why I went prepaid.
I put up with enough bullshit when the company paid for my phone.

When I finally got my own cell phone?
No contracts.
They piss me off? I don’t pay my bill.
I don’t pay my bill, they kill my phone.
No one owes anybody anything.

I watch a lot of chemical plants, gas plant, sugar plant; occupational disaster videos, etc.
Crazy; every inch of pipe, every valve; all important, all have their jobs. ↑↑

"Foreman chose to disable the warning system during re-installation", stuff like that there.

It’s like a big living, breathing animal.
Once you learn what it all does, it’s sort of a transcendent state of knowledge and understanding.

It’s amazing what you will hear.
You will notice the slightest change.
“Hmmmm… that ain’t right.”
