I can't imagine a road trip with a pet. I couldn't deal with the extra distraction and responsibility.

AirBnB works well.
The bullshit of Covid cured me of ever renting another hotel room.
Certainly not from any of the national chains - especially the Holiday Inn brands owned by IHG.
(I was traveling a lot 2020-2021)

We stay in small houses and casitas, or occasionally old-school motels that have been spruced up.
Park right at our door - something no hotels allow, and I WILL NOT hand my car keys to a valet.

It works great for us.
Prices are usually comparable to nice hotels, and my wife is pretty good at understanding the ins and outs of their system.

And it’s not like traveling with our dogs.
Bonnie weighs less than a large cup of coffee, and her entire world exists in a small pet carrier. My wife perfected a small litter box and bed, with a food dish, all contained within.
And being a baby, Bonnie sleeps most of the time.

Angela is gonna need an upscale place to stay. Valet service is a good thing too.

I've learned to adapt.

Another good thing about those places ... hardly ever any pets or children.

Ok, I hate these robo-voice tiktok videos that pop-up everywhere, but this is cool stuff.

She said it was cold and damp every outing.
I think she only did it one season.

It is a good day when I manage to sleep to 7am. Does not happen often. No alarm or anything, I'm just awake around 5am.

Before I retired, my first class in the morning was at 0700 sharp. I would roll out of the rack before 0500 and would generally awaken while staring at my clock around 4:45... Every freaking day... For a good while after retiring, I would set no alarm but still wake up at the same damn time staring at the clock when I opened my eyes. Now? I can roll out of the rack but I set 'build up to it' alarms on my phone.... Just in case.... If my ass needs to be out of the rack at 0700, I'll set 0630, 0645. 0700....

After retirement, my give a shit concentration started gradually becoming diluted... Some things are the same.... but some things, I just don't care....

Morning guys. Noticeably cooler here at 14C/57F, but no rain so that's something. Got a lazy afternoon planned, probably checking if my soccer team can get their act together and claim the last place in the Champion's League for next season. Have a great day all.
