It's Captain Quint,.. actually I kind of admire that character.

But really it happened as a joke of course.

Way back a youngster on the forum made a comment about Shaw pickups in some Norlin thread i can't remember.

His statement was something like " Shaw pickups are awesome,.. after all Tommy Shaw invented the "humbucker",.. Styxs rocks".

So I informed the poster that Tommy Shaw was like 5 years old when the humbucker was invented in 1957,.. and that it was Robert Shaw that was the engineer that invented the humbucker,.. and I posted that pic of Robert Shaw with the machete,...

I did come clean and admitted that Seth Lover invented the humbucker in 1957,.. but the pic fit that little round circle we get for our avatar,.. so i used it.

Though i do get the impression most folks think i'm pissed all the time because of it,.. and that alone is why i kept it.

My original avatar was my CC#28 with cupcake sitting on top,... that was when cake was a taboo subject,.. still kind of touchy mentioning it. I used to take pics with cupcakes instead of spoons to prove it was really my guitar. Then everyone started doing it,.. I think i pissed @LtDave32 off when i took pics with my DSGs and cupcakes,.... It's the root of the "Cupcake" thread.
