This morning…. very grateful to be home.

I LOVE that place... Just plain mind boggling how talented he was.... I loved the Lincoln (his naked wife at the sink) depending on how far away you were standing...

I think my favorite was the fishing village on a bay, small and on the right hand wall about halfway down if I remember correctly. Maybe 1.5ft wide at most. Up close was pretty much little splotches of color...back away and it gets clearer and clearer.... Homes, trees, etc.... but move towards it and the perceived rez goes to hell again...

How in the stem winding hell he could see that in his head and then paint it blows my mind...and then you look at his 'traditional fine art' and get your mind blown at just how good a painter he was.....HUGE paintings...crystal clear... HDR level shit....

He most definitely was the Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart of the art world. I love Rembrandt for his shadows...just mind boggling to me... Dali was light years past Rembrandt but in playing with resolution...

Dali could evidently, in his brain, mentally take a digital pic, blow it up until it pixelates like hell, paint the freaking pixelation, so when you are close it looks like crap or something else. Move away from it and it is clear as a bell.... Only problem was, in his time there was about zero way to physically do that because we didn't freaking HAVE digital imagery to pixelate...

Morning, all.
Not a great week in store, but could be worse.
We've had a couple nice days as teasers, but the weather never gets truly nice till June.
Patience, grasshopper.....
....and a good day to you.

Heading up to my daughter's later morning in N GA... G-Daughter is graduating HS tomorrow evening.... I asked my daughter if my G-dau was gonna hire somebody to tote all those damn honor cords around her neck over her robe.... Good lawd she has a bunch of em.... GPA well over 4.0 (No, I don't fully savvy that either... and probably already a Soph+ in college going dual.... Proud of her... Tall, blonde, stunningly beautiful to the max, with self discipline and self responsibility from hell. Sweet as she can be, blonde, loves everybody, and could sell the same bridge to five different folks at the same time in the same meeting... Sold freaking cases and cases of GS cookies in elementary school. We're talking LOTS of cases. She decided not to major in the astrophysics or whatever and is going to UNGA for biz & finance.

Told my dau when g-dau was probably eight or nine, she would one day own a string of car dealerships across the South... and she's blonde. Sometimes breathtakingly blonde... Super intelligent, well spoken, not afraid of going out of her comfort zone, going on another mission trip this summer, and yet, damn she is blonde bone deep. Sometimes she can blather out something so blonde I just look at her totally unable to speak... Maybe she'll grow out of those 'blonde' moments...Love her to death...but dayum almighty....

I cleaned a spot off on my board because I might be getting a Big Muff for my birthday. The thing is huge, so it needs a big yard to play in.

Current state of my board: germanium Fuzz Face mini -> BD-2 -> DS-1 -> [empty space saved fly Big Muff Pi - original box] -> Way Huge Swollen Pickle MkIIS -> Small Clone -> RV-5 -> RC-5

Some of those old EH pedals were huge.
You could probably use the Electric Mistress and some of the other 70s pedals as pedalboards.

The composition part would be easier, a lot of squinting and going outside to see where you're at; but it's the initial breaking it down into squares that's pretty trippy, I guess you could get the idea from magnifying a newpaper photo.

EDIT: Yeah, what he said. ↑↑

He did.

It was 1976

He was a multi-media artist and had worked with film, video, and TV. He was aware of what a pixel is, and what it represents to human perception at given distances.

Pretty amazing.

Oh I get that we had 'pixels' so to speak BUT. If you look at the 'Lincoln', those pixels lend to the concept of Digital Sampling where bit rez is determined by how many digital bits wide (2^n stuff) that says how many voltage levels possible. (esig ÷ # of possibles = Δe required to change levels in the resultant binary value) All that means the resultant wave form is freaking squared edges like his paintings close up. Wider the bit rez, the tinier the Δesig required to changes values... Think drawing a sine wave on graph paper and you MUST draw on the printed lines... i.e. stairstep.... Sampling frequency is 'how many einst snapshots are taken per second.... Higher sampling freq + wider bit rez, the more accurate the resultant... Filter then rounds the step angles off...

Takes 20 minutes just to get squared away enough to sit down and have a cup of Joe with just one person and one cat.

I can't imagine adding more humans and say, I dunno; dogs or something.

Had to water the birds, too.
