I don't know if I ever saw Thor 2. I liked Ragnarok, but that was one where I really started to notice I haven't kept up on watching all 400 of the other related movies. Like I don't know how everyone got where they were. I never knew why Hulk was even there. Jeff Goldblum was pretty good in that one though. It was still entertaining though.

We'll watch all those once they roll around to streaming for free.

I’m kinda shocked that Snow White isn’t on D- (<<<that’s what I’m calling now…) yet.
They’re probably trying to save face by not putting it straight from theaters onto streaming.
We’re a Disney family so I keep a subscription going.
I’ll probably hate watch it at some point. :laugh2:

they are making a sequel to The Batman. Wont be out untill '26 or '27 I imagine.
I hope they don’t fuck it up.
Too many times, Producer Guy gets those money sign eyeballs and fucks up what made the original so good-typically a spartan script, good acting, good effects, good cast.
A gazillion sequels of every kind of movie have seemed to try the “bigger is better/moar iz MOAR!!1!” approach and jumped the shark.

I lost interest in Marvel a long time ago. I had to force myself to sit down and watch the Avengers finale and to be honest, I thought it was pretty boring. Maybe I'm in the minority there. It was too much. There's like 20+ movies leading up to it and I hadn't even seen a bunch of them and I just lost interest along the way.
Iron Man was the first we saw, and our first Blu-Ray
Loved those three, and was hungry for more, but Disney had most of them locked up so they weren't available on Netflix.
Dr Strange was decent, and we saw a couple others that were pretty good.
Lost interest around the time Age of Ultron was released... surprising because we really do enjoy James Spader.

The whole "multiverse" thing is a turnoff though, and WandaVision was WAY over-hyped, which is another big turn-off.

Something a bit different this week. Over the past week I binged the entire Yellowstone franchise and thought it was incredible so wanted to share.

Chronologically 1883 comes first as it establishes James Dutton finding the Yellowstone valley and establishing it,..and in turn that becomes the generational wealth that 'The Duttons' own and protect through generations of war and violence.

Broadcast wise, Yellowstone aired first and was so popular they made two spin-offs, 1883, and 1923 that are prequels of previous generations of the Dutton family.

I love Westerns and grew up watching all the usual stuff like the Eastwood spaghetti westerns, Tombstone and Young Guns, etc.

Yellowstone franchise is some of the best I've ever seen, if not the best.

It's very gangster, Yellowstone is almost like The Godfather only it's Montana Cowboys instead of NY Italians. The Sopranos with Cowboys.

I wanted to include the two seasons of 1923 as well but it's just too large for everything. So I have the one season of 1883 and the Yellowstone seasons. Next week I'll take these down and put up 1923.

1883 is Sam Elliot and Tim McGraw as James Dutton
1923 is Helen Mirren and Harrison Ford as Jacob Dutton
Yellowstone is Kevin Costner as John Dutton III

If you want to watch the way it was meant to be watched, watch Yellowstone first then go back in time with 1883 and see how it started.

If you only watch 1883 that's a good season about a convoy of immigrants trying to make their way across the Country fighting disease, infection, animals, indians, etc. You don't _have_ to have watched Yellowstone to understand 1883.

I've heard the Yellowstone DL is failing because the file is so large as it's the complete show.

I'm going to pull it and just upload Season 1.

I'll put up 1923 as well and we'll try that.

If it works I'll just swap in a new Yellowstone season each week.

I've been watching One Hundred Years of Solitude on Netflix. The book is regarded of one of the greatest novels of all time. The show is pretty ok. Its in Spanish. I tried watching it dubbed in English but the dubbing was so bad it was distracting so I'm watching with subtitles instead.

Dubs almost always suck. Like 99% of the time they're awful and sound goofy.

As long as the subtitles are large enough and don't go too fast, I'd WAY rather just read them. After a while, you forget they're there.

Fun story....

When Netflix was still mailing DVDs, I changed the audio to German and the subtitles to Spanish and my future ex-wife and our friend were freaking out over getting the wrong disc. Haha.
They shouldn't have spent so long in the kitchen.
Also, I shouldn't have married her.

That's funny! That reminded me of my dad driving my mom crazy years ago. He's a ham radio guy. He obsesses over finding the rarest signal possible. One time he picked up a signal from China of Mandarin speaking Chinese people trying to learn French. He was so excited because he was picking up the signal by bouncing it off the moon or something and my mom is sitting there pulling her hair out listening to Chinese people speaking French :laugh2:
