Pliers, spoon, ice pick...?
Nashville BBQ chicken?
I'm sure I don't want to know.

LOL... the pliers are needed by wifey to rip the foil top off of his individual serving wet food containers. Apparently, they use JB Weld to seal them. She can't teat it open without them.

The spoon is for part two of that operation... to dole out the evil, viscous mung from inside the container.

The ice pick is really a meat thermometer.... that was used to cook the chicken :laugh2:

That explains why Indy is just laying there "supervising".

So happy that trade shows and on-location conferences are a thing of the past for me. Have been for a while and haven't missed them one single iota.
I used to hate vendor shows.
Load-in/load-out always overheated me. They don't run the AC during load-in, and the AC can't keep up with a full room so it's hot AND humid during load-out.

haha, it's opposite in Chicago and most places. i tell people all the time, if it's not July or August, bring a coat.

elephant doors have a way of being the coldest place on earth.

Lakeside Center at McCormick Place has rollup doors on three sides of the building. The Dental show is in Feb and Lakeside is right on the lake. So at the break of the event all those rollups go up at the same time. That hall goes from 72F and nice, to whatever it is outside in Feb, on the lake, in minutes.

All those barely dressed industry booth eye candy types running for the front doors, t'was a sight to be seen.

I could be bought to resume that circuit, but it would take a significant incentive.

If I could hold steady (as it evolves) in my current arrangement for the next 15 years, I will be able to ride off into the sunset quite happily.

I know better than to expect to be able to do that... but I would love for that to work out. :fingersx:

Dear Universe, it is my sincerest hope and intent to continue my work from home arrangement in my current field with my current salary increasing at 3% to 5% year over year, for all of my working eternity. Gratefully yours, mdub.

Our shows were in Long Beach (Petroleum club, about 5 miles from the harbor, so close enough to be humid as hell), Mile Square Park in Fountain Valley, and Laughlin NV.
The Laughlin show was multiple days, so it wasn't as fast-paced... we had a full day to set up and a half day to load out.
The other shows were 6-hour shows, and the doors didn't open until noon, so we were setting up in the afternoon sun, then the show was over at 9-ish, so we'd only have 2 hours to tear down... lucky if we got home before midnight.

I was only setting up one booth (2 tables), everything fit in my Tacoma shell, but the equipment was bulky, so even with a dolly, it was multiple trips to the parking lot.

They were frustrating at best. The technicians are in love with anything new... but the engineers were making the decisions, and those were done through private sales calls.
But you had to be there, or people would ask questions if you were still in business.
