    Temporary spray booth

I see what you’re saying. I expect if I’d thought about it more I might have concluded that was your meaning., well it draws well, but no setup is so good it can’t stand some improvement. I do notice that the negative pressure in the flexible duct collapses it in, and it’s definitely not 12”...

    Alder Les Paul top?

I was factually incorrect about all of the ash strats being sold. I still have the one that was my son Jakes, which was built from all the same templates as the alder one above. Same pickups and hardware too. Only difference is ash vs alder I just weighed them both and the alder Strat in the...

    Alder Les Paul top?

Actually I LOVE Alder :) This Strat here is an alder body with a maple drop top. Ive built a total of 8 Strats to date. 7 of them had swamp ash bodies, and this one is alder, and its hands down my favorite Strat ever. All the others have been sold, this one I'll have it till I croak :)

    Alder Les Paul top?

I bust on telecasters. Its fun (for me) and the good people here that know me understand that I'm just having fun. Thats me doing me. Even 8 years after I posted that comment, I'm still busting on tele's. If I'm still alive in another 8 I'll wager its still going on :)

    Temporary spray booth

To wrap up this post, due to some company coming I had to put the booth away and I'll put it back up in a couple weeks to resume this job. I removed 14 screws to dismantle it, and it took roughly 15 minutes to get it all tucked away in a storage space next to my server rack I didnt doubt it...

I'm not 100% clear on what you mean by putting the fan right against the filter housing. Shown here is a side view cross section of the rear wall. My filter area is 50" tall by 32" wide. the intake is set back 18" from the filters and narrows down to a 15" back where Ive connected the 12"...

Installing a binding and refinishing a LP studio

I really like that router jig. Kudos! It looks way better that the stewmac one on the pedestal, which gets real tricky in the cutaway. Especially on my own 22 Special model which has even less room in the cutaway and is neck-through... I saved your pic for reference when i get around to...

    Temporary spray booth

thanks. And in fact it workwe like a charm. I actually screwed up the bass body burst and will need to re-do it, but the booth performed flawlessly. All the overspray was trapped in the filter, and I found none on the other side or in the duct and nothing blew back into the room. there was no...

    Temporary spray booth

I posted this in the workbench thread and at least one person seemed to find it helpful so but thought maybe it’s own thread would be a good idea. I build this because I’ve been shooting finishes in my shop, which is my double garage that doubles as a blacksmith shop. I try and clean it well...

What's on YOUR workbench right now?

On this, yeah its been my only option since day 1. Tired of worrying about bugs, dust, ventilation, not to mention getting overspray on everything. I have to cover my motorcycle and put drop cloths over all my tools and equipment. Problem solved :) I'll be spraying tomorrow. I'm sure I'll...

What's on YOUR workbench right now?

Yeah I cant find that black duct on the homedepot website, but thats where I got it. It was cheap. I think that 8' length was like 10 or 12 bucks. I probably could have used that for both sides of the fan, but of course id have had to figure out another way to connect it. On the exhaust side...

What's on YOUR workbench right now?

I just whipped it up in my head. Its about as simple as it gets, so I didnt even bother with a drawn out design. The most annoying part was the extension on the back that the hose connects to. I cut the OSB sheets down to 6' tall because I didnt need this to be 8' tall :) the fan was the most...
