  • Hello Sangandongo, I read your post about the 1961 Tremolux 6G9 with EL-84 you bought last Summer. I recently bought the same great amplifier, although (factory?) converted to 6L6's. Mine is number 261; it might have left Fullerton with the same batch as yours! Does your amp have its original tube chart? Is the head drilled for the hold-down brackets? Thank you! All the best!     You don't have a 6G9, then. You have a 6G9-A or B. There were only 200 or less 6G9 models with EL84s. The factory switched them to 6L6s later to accommodate the oversized transformer which killed so many of the ones like mine.

    Mine is drilled for amp brackets, yes.
