I totally agree with what your drummer said. I had similar experience. When showing off/playing alone in front of my friends, they said V sounds a bit weird, like screaming frog tone without elegance, compared to the other guitars. But at the jam, my drummer(same thing heard from drummer?!) told...
LOL, that looks very unique. Good job!
You may take a look at mine on the other angle.

Anyway, I like yours, too. :thumb:
I guess it's same as yours. Nut width is 40mm, which is around 1.5 inches.
On 12th fret, the width is 53mm, around 2 inches.
Right, I think neck is heavy.
I sliced off a chair silencer, cut down to quarters.
Then placed them at side wall of each pickup.

I got that idea Michael Schenker did so.
Hi guys,
I like to show off my new guitar. I got it on last Christmas eve. I would like to write my impression after playing it for a month. Basically I like Flying V. My first guitar was FV, and main one is still FV which is not shown in the picture. Anyway, fortunately, I could get an used...
Are you looking for this?:naughty:
I got this lady on Christmas eve.
Gibson Custom shop, 70s, VOS, Limited edition for Japan, made in 2012, Super '74 Humbuckers, 2.7kg, volute & 3 piece neck.
This is my own experience about playability.
My first guitar was Flying V copy in 1988, then later I got genuine Gibson V in 1990. Since then, I played V shaped guitars only.
In 2008, I realized I was too old to play heavy shape guitar, so tried several 'normal' looking guitars like LP and SG...
I guess that's to keep the neck pickup horizontal against the body. My old flying V has a problem that one edge of pup kept on sinking down.
Or, he just simply lost the screw on the mounting ring.
Wow, now I'm realizing everyone has different taste.
Though Vox is not my favorite, I have a good memory with AC30. Brian May would be sad with your thought. :o
I love Fender, too. Best sounding in my opinion.
To me, even Mesa Boogie or Orange sounds better than Marshall. Old Marshall is okay, but new marshalls are not my taste.
