Show us your 90's made Korean Les Pauls!!!!!!

I dont see a 9 year old thread about a Chinese Epiphone still going strong with so many praises for them. But it sounds like you're the professional here. Im just a working stiff who enjoys guitar. I know what I like and what feels good to me. You know what you like and feels good to you...

Show us your 90's made Korean Les Pauls!!!!!!

A Gibson employee posted that years ago on the Gibson forum. Take it for what its worth I guess. But it does make sense. Gibson knew the quality would go down in China. Did it? Some say yes some say no. In my experience though Ive never played a "bad" Korean guitar (Epi, Ibanez, LTD). I cannot...

Show us your 90's made Korean Les Pauls!!!!!!

If I remember correctly I had a early 2000s Gibson SG Special that had a pretty chunky neck. Its like they cut a baseball bat in half and glued it in.

Show us your 90's made Korean Les Pauls!!!!!!

I watched PRS factory tour videos the other day on youtube. The USA factory and the Indonesian factory where the SE line is made. I can honestly say there was just as much, if not more, pride on the workers faces at the Indo plant than at the USA plant. They take their product very seriously. I...

Show us your 90's made Korean Les Pauls!!!!!!

I just recently bought a 2019 Gibson Les Paul Studio and it came with a NICE vinyl bag. Its basically the soft version of the brown and pink cases the higher end LPs come with. It even has a neck rest in it. Sweetwater sells the bag for 150. Itll fit LP and SG. Might wanna check it out for the...

Show us your 90's made Korean Les Pauls!!!!!!

Yeah, according to the Guitar Dater Project site this was made 12/93 at the Samick factory. This baby was my first love, I thought I was Randy Rhoads with this strapped on. LOL! Of course I still cant play like him.

Show us your 90's made Korean Les Pauls!!!!!!

My first guitar. Bought brand new at Guitar Center in Hollywood, CA for $299 (I think....). Back then you got a case with a new guitar. Even the cheap ones. This guitar has spent the better part of 27 years in the case. The mods done are a Gibson 498T in the bridge, Switchcraft and CTS...

New 2018 Historic Goldtop, Finish crack or Neck crack? Should i return?

I returned the LP Studio with the neck cracks and had the funds put on a gift card.. Thank God. And I found another one at another GC in the Atlanta area. When I went in that one I went straight to the Gibson wall. No LP Studio Desert Burst with coil tapped Zebra's. Even though their website...

New 2018 Historic Goldtop, Finish crack or Neck crack? Should i return?

Yep. First thing in the morning. Ive had many Gibsons over the last few decades and never seen this on a brand new one. Not to mention the board is VERY dried out and the strings are corroded. Guitar Center strikes again!

New 2018 Historic Goldtop, Finish crack or Neck crack? Should i return?

I just, TONIGHT, bought a Gibson LP Studio at Guitar center. It was being sold as 2019 (2019 Serial) but the docs show the inspection date was 08/18. I didnt notice in the store that there are very fine cracks that begin right at the nut and go maybe about an inch down the neck sort of parallel...

    NGD: PRS S2 Vela "Satin"

Mine finally came in, showed up with a hard case no less!! Yeah... its pretty awesome. Ive never owned a PRS before so I dont really have a frame of reference for how the Vela compares to other PRS', But so far Im totally enjoying this guitar. And its much lighter than a LP and USA Strat. Nice.

    NGD: PRS S2 Vela "Satin"

I know Im kinda late to the party here but Im currently climbing the walls waiting for my 2016 S2 Vela in Gloss Mahogany to be delivered. I scored one used in "great" condition off the web. I read more good things about Vela's than bad. And yes, have watched every video I can find on them! I...

Question about differing opinions on what LP6+ means

Ive never been a huge fan of any Firebird, or the V for that matter. The LP was my first love ever since seeing Randy Rhoads playing one when I was 12. I was hooked. To this day I still have a framed 16x20 picture of Randy with his LP Custom hanging the living room. Even the wife has grown to...

Question about differing opinions on what LP6+ means

Me either. I found a few youtibe vids on them and, although not very practical, they do kinda have a cool factor of sorts and I think might become a collectible 10 years from now. Same with the Firebird X that Gibson destroyed in their parking lot with a track hoe. That was a painful video to...

Question about differing opinions on what LP6+ means

Oh, that also makes sense. The only Les Paul I'd buy with all the crazy electronics is the Dusk Tiger. Not that its all that great but it might have some collector value in the future. There is one listed on GC's website in excellent condition with the case and all accessories for 1500...
