    The Scattervarius

I swear I will have one of these one day. Together with the Les Paul, Tele and Strat, this has got to be the most timeless looking guitar designs there ever was.

Haha yeah, age will do that to you. Will of course never sell the guitar, it's my baby :)

    Replica Les Pauls show em!!

After owning this guitar for four years, I was getting annoyed by the fact that I skimped on the fretboard inlays when collecting parts for the build. So, I ordered a set of DJ inlays from Crazyparts. The original inlays were Zamms, which are a tad bigger than the DJ/Retrospec/Bartlett etc...

    The No BS Inlay Thread

Does anyone know whether Historic or Vintage cut Retrospec/DJ/Bartlett/etc. inlays are closer in shape to Zamm inlays? I have a guitar with Zamms already installed because I skimped when collecting parts for the build. Now I'm regretful and would like to replace them :)

The detective team got it! The mahogany is 1 3/8" instead of 1 3/4". It's also slightly chambered and has a two-way truss rod, but you obviously can't see that. Function over form! Here's a picture from when it was brand spanking new; it has since faded a little.

Kit clinic-all brands- routine & fixes

Quick question. Did everyone eventually get their GM kits? I had completely forgotten about it until I saw this thread after returning to this forum after a few years away. I never received any kit. Guessing that's $330 I'll never see again, seeing as how all this happened back in 2009...

Real nice, rocknmatchless! Might I suggest that you get reflector knobs like these to really top it off? :)

GUITARS-The Museum, a work in progress

I've been living right across the bay in Vasa, Finland for the past year and still spend a fair amount of time there. Will definitely ride the ferry over to Umeå and visit the museum this summer! It's actually very surreal that such an exquisite collection of instruments resides in Sweden; it's...

Everything G0 - Guitar Center Exclusive 1960 Reissue Les Paul

Aww shucks, that's rough! As they used to say back when I was active here, send it to Greg! Two of my very best guitars have both had headstock repairs prior to me buying them, ain't no biggie.

Everything G0 - Guitar Center Exclusive 1960 Reissue Les Paul

Sorry about the dumb question, but I've been out of this game for a few years now. Do they still make G0s? Can't see them listed on neither GC nor MF, and you rarely see any from after 2010 posted on forums.

    what's the best 335 copy?

^^ I love my regular Viking. Haven't got pictures of it, but it looks like this: I have to say Hagströms come with some of the nicest stock pickups for "budget" guitars.

Is this REALLY what life as a metal musician is?

Releasing a metal album is much like being famous on Youtube; not an achievement at all. :) I was young and naive and signed a contract that made it completely sure I wouldn't earn any money at all off of the sales of the debut, which sold rather well for being released by an independent label...

Could the Norwegians have been the first to mass produce a solidbody electric guitar?

Gotta hand it to him, that transition from the neck to the body looks way more comfortable than anything Fender or Gibson had at the time. :) The patent was named something as rock n' roll as: Contraption for electro-acoustic musical instruments. Nilsen himself didn't actually design the...

    JCM800 Vs. JCM900?

A friend of mine just let me borrow his 800 2210, which is the 100W two-channel variety, probably closer to the 900 in characteristics. I have to get new tubes for it as they were blown when a guy in a Mötörhead tribute band used it to play bass guitar for a gig and cranked it. Certainly hope...
