I've never played a 50's Les Paul. But I don't really believe in aging woods. Weren't solid bodies guitars built to stop resonating and cut feedback?
How does a solid body resonate? If it's an acoustic guitar it's all different.

Even so, I read that electric guitars were made in the first place to NOT resonate.
The concept was behind concert situations with jazz musicians. As solid as it gets so it won't vibrate and therefore cause no feedback.
Pickups may not pickup any acoustic proper tie of the wood itself but...
