2005 Vintage Mahogany -NASHVILLE TO ABR UPGRADE- ('59 SPECS - NO MAPLE) PICTURES!!!!

I would assume as much. The top bridge screws on both the Faber and Callaham bridges are a definite engineering upgrade. :thumb:

When I get my dream LP, will go callaham, they're just the best manufacture hands down. It doesn't make sense money wise for this one. Have my eye on a goldtop, should have a little $$$ to work with by next spring. Hopefully I can get it for under 2k. Rob

Ya, a nashville has more adjustment room. ABR's are considered more resonant, especially if you use steel studs. Also, they are period correct for the "golden age" of gibson guitars. Some people who have done the retro-fit have said it made no noticeable difference to their ear, but the...

Thanks! Not as hard as some people would assume, had no real trouble. After I lowered my pickups the guitar sounds awesome. A lot brighter unplugged, but very clear and articulate with the BBPros. Not muddy at the neck or piercing at the bridge at all. Very balanced. The truss cover came from...

Chapter 3: When I went to install the bridge onto the studs, the fit was not just very tight, it was VERY F*ING TITE! Had to be convinced with my ratchet and a plastic screwdriver handle on the assembly to prevent damage. Once everything was lined up, the bridge did tap into place and could be...

2005 Vintage Mahogany -NASHVILLE TO ABR UPGRADE- ('59 SPECS - NO MAPLE) PICTURES!!!!

Chapter 2: I got the openings ready to reinstall new steel bridge studs and tailpiece inserts. The bridge needed to be tapped to 8x1.25. After tapping, I blew out the shavings and routed the sharp edges with a dremel. Overkill, as I soon found that the studs had about a 2mm gap around the top...

2005 Vintage Mahogany -NASHVILLE TO ABR UPGRADE- ('59 SPECS - NO MAPLE) PICTURES!!!!

Hey guys! Here are a few pictures of my afternoon project. Can only load 5 pics at a time so this is chapter 1: First made a nashville insert removal tool with a bolt, washer and socket and removed both inserts. This is accomplished by putting the washer on top of a small socket, running...

    Why did YOU join MLP?

Hey, Thump I joined to show a few pictures of my 2005 vintage mahogany (with the early oil based stain, not the later latex, chalky, finish). My first post = AWESOME EXPERIENCE! After 3 days of dealing with rude, busybody, know-it-all, dead wrong, "I'm not the troll.... YOU ARE!'s", I CAN...
