    Grohlstheman's Trini (Kit) Build

Okay...now I’ve decided to do a relic finish on this due to several reasons. I sprayed the final coat earlier today- what’s my next step? Should I let it cure, then do the whole wet sand thing, buff it to desired gloss (dull shine) and then attempt to thermal check it?

    Grohlstheman's Trini (Kit) Build

Here she is in all her tinted glory. I am very unhappy with the spot on the neck and the tips of the ears where the lacquer basically ran off with my color coats (did I do something wrong here??). I guess this will be a relic project. The placement of the neck color f-up actually fits the bill...

    Grohlstheman's Trini (Kit) Build

Sooo...I sprayed tinted clear today and disaster ensued. I liked the tint I was getting from the coat, which was sprayed a little heavy. Well, it sagged on an area of the neck and started running red dye onto the same area of the fretboard binding. In my idiotic panic I attempted to wipe it...

    Grohlstheman's Trini (Kit) Build

First coat of true clear. Waiting on tinted clear to come in. I applied a light dust coat of clear on the stamped area so there would be no runs...I've learned my lesson in the past. Old shitty tuner holes will be covered. That's all for now, folks.

Thank you. It was kind of a nuisance to scrape, but I absolutely love the aesthetic of all binding. I have an affinity for customs for that reason :bowdown

    Grohlstheman's Trini (Kit) Build

Diamond holes done. I used a razor blade for a straight edge to scrape against. The binding wasn't perfectly straight to begin with, but I made it work. Fret marker dots were slightly off center. I really had to make the binding lines clean to compensate. I figured if everything else is...

    Grohlstheman's Trini (Kit) Build

Scraped body binding... This tool makes quick work of this task. I first start on the back, edging the final line with a quick, smooth pass. I then work off the rest of the material on the outside. I reset the tool to match the side of the binding. I recess it a hair inside of the...

Two coats cherry red tint. I wanted a darker red, so I went further than I wanted, as it dries slightly lighter. I will also be exposing to uv when it is done.

Update: Neck is set, everything is fine tuned and sanded to 400. Tomorrow is masking day, and potentially first coats applied. *fingers crossed*

    Deliberate Noise pedal

I got to the bottom of who built his pedal board within a month before the attached video. Klon KTR, etc...not sure

    Deliberate Noise pedal

I kindly disagree, and for two reasons. The noise stops when he clicks a pedal. Additionally, You can hear it oscillating and sustaining the noise (which is partially feedback and partially something else) while he’s tuning. Not sure, maybe it’s just a question of finding the right feedback pedal

    Deliberate Noise pedal

Hey everyone, do any of you know of pedals that create deliberate noise instantly? For example, check out Alexisonfire guitarist Wade (4:10 ish guitar switch). It appears tuner is in loop so he can tune while it’s still running as well. (7:43 tuning) Any help is appreciated
