  • Just seeing your recent post on deciding between (or for both) a recent tokai LS and a local vintage Reborn Old LS60. I would echo the majority of the replies that the vintage model would be one not to miss.

The Reborn Olds are the only ones I have not found just yet, though I imagine they are all of the same quality and mojo of my Reborns (78-80). Pretty sure the difference is solely the brand badging for that period and not the build. Did you ever pick up that second cherry SB LS60?

I did buy the new one and made the right choice.

The guitars are different, but remarkably similar for 37 years between them.

New one is slightly lighter and fuller voiced. More woody sounding acoustically.

No fret-edge binding on the newer one, which does not bother me. Necks are very similar if not the same. Matt finish on the newer neck is just slightly nicer to play.

The other old LS60 is stamped LS80 - I think it's an LS80 with a refret, accounting for the lack of fret-edge binding.

It's still for sale and I won't be pursuing it.
