  • Hello Freddy
In your videos you mentioned using the Bartlett templates and also you said you were using the Stewmac fret cutting guide .
My questions are ,did you use the vintage scaling for the three builds or the modern neck ? Second question witch Stewmac fret template guide did you use ?
    Thanks for any input !

I used the stew mac 24.625" modern scale...not rule of 18.

Thanks , by the way you can play LP as good as you build them in evidence in video 12 Boston’s it’s been such a long time NICE !!!!
Hey Freddy, sorry I haven't been round to pickup the logo. I was going to bring an ebony headstock cap so you could route that, but my bandsaw decided to fall apart on me, so I've no way to re-saw any material right now. If you are in Welland today, I can stop by after work and pick up the logo.
Hello Freddy, I sent you a couple emails about getting my es 355 restored. Maybe you could contact me if your time permits.
    Thanks

I contacted you last year and I never followed up, anyway I figured you were gonna be super busy now that musicians are working again. Anyway, I have a 60's Gibson ES 355 that I would like refinished in cream white like big Al's....
Was wondering if your still doing restoration like that.

Hi Freddy. Have you managed to find a source of nitrocellulose in Canada? I use Sally Hansen Ultimate Shield nail polish for touch-ups (it's nitrocellulose) but haven't found straight nitro yet here.

Absolutely not! No reason to clean the clean between coats, I typically only clean the gun at the end of the day when shooting nitro. But that's only with nitro. Nitro will not harm the gun, even if you leave it in the gun for days (I'm not recommending that, just an extreme example)... because nitro will dissolve with thinner or acetone, it's very easy to clean the gun out....

....If it was poly or 2k, in other words, a 2-part finish that requires a hardener then yes I would have to clean the gun thoroughly between coats.

Thanks a lot Freddy! I really like the Mohawk lacquer which I got off Amazon @Byron Blue. With it i'm using Mohwak Lacquer Reducer and I think that is making a difference. It really allows me to get good atomization even with my cheap HVLP gun. Im only spraying the back of the Les Pauls right now but I dont have any orange peel.
Hi Freddy, I’m looking at getting some Brazilian rosewood from exotic woods in New Jersey and I noticed you have gottten boards from Gulab before. Just wondering how the quality was. He sent me some pics and they didn’t look dark. I had told him and he said lighting might have been bad and sent another pic and they looked better. Just curious how yours were?

    Hi,

Everything I've bought from Gulab has been top shelf. And yes, he sent me pics too and I got to choose.
Hello Freddie. I live in the UK and I've been going through your les Paul build thread with great fascination. Me and my friend are building les Paul juniors out of an old Sapele wardrobe we've laminated the timber to achieve 1.75" thickness! The necks are from China but one day maybe we'll attempt our own necks :) do you still build electrics? keep up the great vids.
