    New Korina Explorers and Vs

$20K... And, still, they can't get the ABR-1 position vintage correct!

Does your Les Paul keep changing size?

Haha. I know what you're saying here. They are quite a small bodied guitar - but it's like anything, you get used to what you use, and it becomes a moot thing. The smallness (is that a word?) is especially noticeable if you pick up a Super 400 for a bit, then switch back to your Lester! :-). Big...

What pickups are in your Les Pauls ?

OX4's in my R9 Bharat Khandekar (OTPG) pickups in both my Terry Morgan reps 1xP90 and one AlNiCo P-90 in my 1956 Custom Couldn't fault a thing.

Do I needs another Vintage Byrdland or L5 or even Super400

How about this? It's not old, but it's rare and could get you close to what you're after without spending a lot more. Serial 001. Pretty cool! https://reverb.com/uk/item/37064892-gibson-l5-crimson-team-alnico-v-staple-pickups

Do I needs another Vintage Byrdland or L5 or even Super400

Frutiger - With you on the Super-400 thing. I'm 6-foot and have monkey arms, yet a 400 is a beast. The exception, is the early 1935-1937 Super-400 with the smaller upper bout. These are remarkably comfy to play, and feel no bigger than say an Advanced size L5. The key, I think to playing a 17"...

Do I needs another Vintage Byrdland or L5 or even Super400

This '55 L5-CES belonged to my late Dad. I'm the current custodian. There is something quite special about the old 50s staple Alnico V pickups - NOTHING else sounds like them. I love that each pole-piece magnet can be individually positioned for really subtle nuance. They are definitely a jazz...

Opportunity to buy back my old Les Paul... Thoughts.?

Ah, good old sentimentality! Would you feel differently if you didn't know about the wherabouts of that guitar, or still remain in contact with the guy you originally sold it to? My own experience... I owned and LOVED a Heritage '80 for fifteen or more years. It was a great playing and sounding...

1959 Gibson Les Paul Special: A restoration journey

Send it to Yuuki: https://www.facebook.com/PGVGuitars/ The only fella around I'd trust to do your guitar justice. He's done several LP Special resto-mods, that are nothing short of stunning IMO!

    2020 R4 VOS, too green...

YMMV, but I think it looks more like a real old goldtop should look.

WTB: Lightweight aluminium nickel stoptail for 2003 Historic R9

Seem to have mislaid the stock Historic stoptail for my 2003 R9. Anyone on here got a replacement for sale? For years it's sported an original 50s Stoptail, but I need that for another guitar, and wish to get my Historic back to stock parts. I'm in UK.

After years of painstaking buying and trying, many tens of thousands of dollars spent, I've finally found the best Les Paul... and it's an R8!

I've not been on here for a while (properly), but I really enjoyed reading about your quest, Sicko. Your R8 looks amazing and very authentic looking. The journey for finding the 'grail' is always expensive, soul-destroying and hugely rewarding in almost equal measures. I'm sure we've all taken...
