Refretting with Jescar 57110 ( opinions)

I just got my LP back, it's been refretted with Nickel Jescar FW57110 . I absolutely love them. Perfect intonation all over the neck which is something I was concerned about. The crown is pretty thin so I guess that explains it . They are not as big as I thought they would be to be honest. Just...

Refretting with Jescar 57110 ( opinions)

Thanks for the feedback. The sankos are wide but very low and fall in the medium jumbo category anyway. However G&L calls the 57110 medium jumbo too :hmm: My main concern is with bare chords. The few times I played tall jumbos there was always a note that sounded bad.. I have a light touch I...

Refretting with Jescar 57110 ( opinions)

Haha thanks man. No, I’m going with nickel 18%, I have never played SS frets but I just prefer nickel in every comparison I have heard on Youtube.. I would love to play them in person tho and make my own conclusions some day.

Refretting with Jescar 57110 ( opinions)

Hi Everyone, I’m getting my Les Paul refretted with Jescar 57110 jumbo wire. The frets I’m replacing have a width of 2.7mm or 0.106 inches vs the Jescar’s wich are 2.79mm wide or 0.110 inches. Do you guys think that the small increase in width between the two is going to change the tone or...

    Scratched frets new guitar

I saw all the Youtube videos of the ZFile and I also thought about getting that one. The price is right If it lasts, and I’m sure it pays off very soon as I spend a fortune on fret jobs.

    Scratched frets new guitar

Thanks Pier, I totally agree with your point. When I first got this guitar and being used to very tall frets ( all jumbo wire and 6105s etc) on my other guitars I was a bit in shock due to the super low frets. They are probably 0.034” tall. I had to practice for hours over a 8 day period to be...

    Scratched frets new guitar

I’m very good at setting up my guitars and I ended learning over the years because I was always let down with professional setups. I will also like to learn fret dressing because at least where I live this type of job usually leaves a lot to be desired. Poor crowning is the norm here as far as...

    Scratched frets new guitar

I got a luthier to do it :cheers2: Evo seems like the perfect compromise with the only downside of the gold finish which may look on some guitars though.

    Scratched frets new guitar

Yes I agree I mean this guitar is around 2 grand. So it’s strange... the good thing though is that at least I cannot feel it under my fingers when I play and It has no impact on sound. But it can get worse I guess.. no I would not dare to refret it myself I don’t have the skills and tools and...

    Scratched frets new guitar

It’s the absolute best guitar I have ever played. I have not seen anything this good ever so yea it’s a keeper. I’ve always been tempted with SS frets. I’m sure I will love their durability and how they play and stay polished but to my ears they don’t sound exactly the same as nickel. So it’s a...

    Scratched frets new guitar

There are like 5 frets in the same condition, no I don’t think it’s from a fret file as the scratches line up perfectly with the wound strings grooves.
