Don't see the Les Paul Standard 60's on Gibson.com anymore

I wonder what that’s all about?

Price of 1976 Gibson Explorer with small crack in headstock?

I would never buy a guitar with a headstock crack. So, for me I wouldn’t pay more than the cost of the parts. But that’s just me. But, since you’ve already been offered $2000.00, that would be a good starting point.

Vintage style locking tuners-Gotoh vs Kluson

Because I like the looks of vintage tuners, and I appreciate quality construction and functionality, I replaced the factory Gibson tuners on my guitars with Kluson Deluxe tuners and the press-in conversion bushings. However, I believe that the 2014 Traditional has chrome hardware, and Klusons...

Vintage style locking tuners-Gotoh vs Kluson

In my limited experience using quality tuners, the tuners have very little or no impact on tuning stability. I believe that the nut is more likely the culprit. The 2014 Les Paul that I owned came with Tone Pros tuners. Those were some of the best tuners that Gibson has used. Put whatever tuners...

First impressions: 2019 Les Paul Standard 50s

The takeaway from all this is that the new Gibson’s aren’t “in the ground” in spite of the opinion of one person who played one guitar at Guitar Center for an hour. People who own them and have posted numerous reviews on this forum disagree. These are the best Gibson USA guitars that have been...

    Traditional vs Standard 50s

I’m considering the same trade. I get the itch for something new. I’ll probably do it. But I agreed with myself to wait and see if the urge passes.

    Traditional vs Standard 50s

What would you hope to gain by the swap? The only real differences are the name and narrower neck binding. Maybe better quality of build?

Didn’t notice that before. How far back does this go?

First impressions: 2019 Les Paul Standard 50s

If you compare the measurements of 59 Historics at Wildwood Guitars with the Original series ‘50’s, they are identical. With each guitar, Historic or Original series, there are minuscule variations that could be considered hair splitting.

First impressions: 2019 Les Paul Standard 50s

Let’s be clear on another issue. The price of the Les Paul Standard has dropped considerably. The price of the 2019 Les Paul Traditional was $2799.00, and the price of the 2019 Les Paul Standard was $3200.00. My price for the Traditional is fact. That of the Standard is the closest that I can...

First impressions: 2019 Les Paul Standard 50s

I was being sarcastic. All of the reviews I have read, and my personal experience with the new “Original” series (2019 Gibson’s were Henry J’s domain) have been ultra positive. Now we have this one that seems rather snobbish. Not all of us can afford Custom Shop guitars. I don’t even want one...
