gotcha, thanks! My R7 is actually 14, which is perfect.
in that case, I could take a couple more passes with the router at the same angle and both the height above the bridge will come down and I will meet the binding intersection at the front.
Yes that’s right. I took some measurements with the fretboard.
Right now the height above the body with the straight edge at the bridge is 37/64’s plus 3/64 for frets is 40/64ths or 5/8ths. In millimeters that’s 15.8 (for us Canadians lol).
The angle on my metal gauge looks like 3.7-3.8...
4.4 according to my digital level which is know is probably wonky. I tried the phone app...between 3.8 and 3.9! so...i think it makes sense that the angle actually is too shallow.
High hitting the maple at the neck joint yes,
Good at the neck PU exit point
8.3mm gap at bridge under the straight...
unfortunately i dont have my board fretted yet.
Im getting 8.3 mm gap where bridge would be at this point.
so, seems like i'm high at the front (above binding), ok at back of neck p/u and 8.3mm at bridge (ruler on neck plane only).
My gut is telling me to check on this before I go any further. Hah. Seems a little off to me.
so I have a neck plane routed with angle of between 4.3 and 4.4 degrees according to my digital level (can’t trust 100%).
the route comes out at the back of the neck pickup and looks ok on...
My current build has been a total pain in the butt. 6 years of on and off building. Where do I start...
While gluing the top on, I had a backerboard on there with carpet tape. Warmed
it up to assist the hide glue, but the tape soaked into the grain of the back and
tore out a big chunk of...
