    I checked Gibsons website. The output of the 490r is 7.4. The output of a Burstbucker type 3 is 8.4. So that seems consistent with the story, but doesn't explain why the pickups don't have Gibson insignia. I'm curiously baffled. Lol.

    So the neck reads 7.36k ohms and the bridge is 8.33k ohms.

    Another question.... Is it common for Gibson to have their cases made in Canada? I was wondering what the leaf on the case was. I couldn't read it in the picture, but found a case on ebay that had the same sticker. Says "Case made in Canada".

    Well the guy said they are original, 490r and Burstbucker. My friend didn't specify which was in the bridge or neck. The price is scary low, but I pretty sure this guitar is legit. Thanks guys for the input so far. I guess I'll be working out the shipping details with my friend soon.
