    Can someone ID this Epiphone?

I had one of a similar age/Desert burst color, and it was a very nice LP. Stupidly sold it, and have forever regretted doing do.

    What's with Firebird prices?

Very much the same reason I put Gibson's in Epi cases too!

    Best looking Tokai`s

Older than Love Rock 0010853 it looks like, but by how much? :hmm: Is yours a Reborn Old? Lifted from the Tokai facts thread: "Les Paul Reborn" - 1978 - early 1980 "Reborn Old" - early 1980 - mid 1980 "Love Rock" - late 1980 to Date

    Best looking Tokai`s

I knew I had some "Sunny day" pics of my LS-80. The figuring in the wood is similar to Mono's above. Wonder how close they are in S/N's?

    Various Epiphone quality issues.

This is most true thing I have found with my various Epi's over the past 8 years (lots new, lots used). The stock action at the nut is sky-high, and makes playing (and trying to learn) S0 much harder! This is one of those "if you don't know any better, you don't know any better" things. The...

    Vintage Tokai quesion

Thanks Mono! That would "esplain" it. The other thing that caught my attention looking at the 50's on Digi was that selling prices on them have gone up a lot: 80K, 86K, and 118K for the GT. Yikes!

Hey Swampy, good to hear from you! So, maybe they stopped doing this after '79?

Heard A Weird Sound While Guitar On Stand

Good question. Maybe so. I reserve using it for nut slots that are borderline too tight, and go "Ping", when tuning. (and yes, I could get out the nut files, but this is quicker). I lift the string out of the slot, then use the micro Q-tip thingy to put a tiny amount in the slot, then drop the...

Wow, that is sweet! That angle really shows off the top carve too. :bowdown

    Vintage Tokai quesion

Just wondering if anyone knows why some older Tokai's have the model number stamped on the bottom of the FB, and others don't? I have two 1980's, (LS-50, LS-80), and a '82 LS-80. None of them have a stamp. But, have seen others of similar age that do....? Often thought it was just the higher...

Hey! I recognize that one! Very nice LQ if anyone wants a "top shelf" Epi. Miss it too. :(

    Epiphone Custom Classic Antique

The ones with the true Custom block inlays must be rare as "__ "(rhymes with Duck), as I have never seen one, only the regular Trap style. :hmm: I'm with you on that too, as I've had a few also. My Tak Goldtop is flawless, and I got it for a good price, so no complaints! Except that it is...

    Epi 56 Goldtop P90 LP?

Thanks man, me too! If you look at the pics in the thread, you'll see that there are a few "flaws"on the top: someone screwed up with the router, and a big "bite mark" is above the bridge cavity, and a pink "blood" spot a few inches below the same rout. Solid colors hide all sorts of finishing...
