Refinished and refretted ‘81 Custom market value?

If that's a refin it looks like what an original finish would look like now.

    70's Nashville replacement saddles

I had the same bridge on my 1981 Custom and couldn't find replacement saddles anywhere. Replaced it + its bushings with a Faber locking abr + Faber iNserts. They saddles were zinc on my bridge.

Framus Rosita - 1950s archtop revival

Thanks emony. I chiseled out the u-shaped channel where the aluminum part was and completely filled the new square channel with a filler piece of wood. I then chiseled out a new channel for the new truss rod, making sure it fitted snugly.

Framus Rosita - 1950s archtop revival

I had to remove and reglue the fretboard... I somehow managed to glue the neck into into a down bow, even while using a clamping caull, and could not get enough relief into the neck with the truss rod (well I could but it took way too much force). I think the weight of the glue clamps was the...

Finally found a Norlin locally to try out. Anything I should look for?

I'd want to test the truss rod to be absolutely sure it's working properly. Finding out later that the threads are stripped or the rod is snapped really sucks.

Framus Rosita - 1950s archtop revival

Thanks - I hope my result will be the same. It's never going to be a great guitar but if I can get it to a state where it's comfortable and fun to play I'd be happy. The fun part in the process is to also see what can be done without spending a lot on luthier specific/quality tools. So far I've...

Framus Rosita - 1950s archtop revival

Well I ended up fretting the board before gluing it on the neck, because I noticed the board barely moved after the first 6 or 7 frets were installed. I left out two frets in order to use locating pins while gluing down the board. After gluing down the board I installed the old inlays, using a...

    Tru Oil questions

I used TruOil on the back of the maple neck of my Custom, after removing the sticky nitro. Three thin coats - all it took.

Legendary "Crappy" Norlins ...Where are They???

That's terrible! Better get rid of it.

    Dome top?

Took a few photos to illustrate the relative lack of recurve. It's not flat but certainly not 'vintage correct'.

    Dome top?

Not a recurve in sight on my 81 Custom.

Framus Rosita - 1950s archtop revival

I like doing finicky jobs like this one. Also, I love the look of these super wide inlays and want to make the guitar appear to be as original as possible. But your comments on the fretboard possibly warping have given me food for thought regarding the order of steps. I think I'd better: -...
