This would be my thinking, pretty much.

Excluding the vendor only special finishes we've seen so far, was the Epi '59 outfit ever lauded as "Limited Edition" whatever that may mean?

No COA? Wouldn't really expect one with this model either unless it was actually a limited production run in reality, which is doubtful.

But tbh, not coming with an appropriate multi-tool or at least a wrench to tweak truss rod, saddles, etc is pretty lame, imo. But for what @Seven paid as long as it's not broken, no worries! That one looks and apparently sounds great.

Not in the market since getting a couple LPs recently but still looking forward to seeing/playing one in the wild. Enjoying the pics and ngds though. Looks nice.

It was stated at Namm it was limited, likewise the rear toggle switch plate says Limited Edition....having said that my Joe Perry Boneyard says "Epiphone Limited Edition Custom Shop"

Keith let's see some photos and hear/see clips of your first burst! I haven't liked any of the videos so far, I want to hear someone with good tone who can rip a little.

Yes we need to see some NGD threads from those who have received...

I promise it's coming, finally shot some photos of the Eastman yesterday, but not satisfied with the lighting, or where I took them. I'm in the middle of a serious personal issue that's kept me running so much I just haven't had time, but my NGD posts are coming!

Limited edition might mean anything. Limited to one year, limited to 100.

The best thing about these besides the pickups and thin finish is the neck. It's hands down the best neck carve of any Epiphone I own or have played for sure!
You hit the nail on the head there bro! That's one comfortable neck, very similar to the Eastman which is supposed to be based on real 59 measurements. In no way does it feel like any Epiphone neck I've ever played. I haven't taken the strings off either guitar to take measurements, but I bet the Eastman is slightly bigger, but neither is a baseball bat, and I think the real baseball bats were gone by 59, but 57 and 58 had huge necks. Of course I've never seen a 59, but have played R9s, and the Epi is one of the most comfortable necks I've ever played period!

There is speculation that some were sprayed darker to begin with or were custom orders, while others believe the cherry bursts darkened under certain conditions instead of fading like the color variations you mention. These threads are a good read about this topic:

I think this guy has it right:

Hearing about the neck really makes me envious of those who have already received theirs. I like the "slim taper" my Epi Custom has but I'm dying for something a little more rounder. Only 7 more weeks until I get mine :confused:

... Or more likely "limited to as many as we can make until they stop selling or become unprofitable."

Kinda kidding but guessing all that wants one will be served. And then some.

That stamp has been on 95% of all electrics Epiphone produced in the last 12 or 13 years.

Read my mind...

Every minute you wait will be worth it. The second you open that case you'll be in Love ❤️❤️ I truly believe this is one Epiphone even Guitar snobs will love, ( even if they won't admit it!). I can't wait until everyone gets theirs. I've been so busy lately I haven't had any playing time since getting my guitars, so in a sense, I'm still waiting! Hopefully that all changes in the next week!!!

Looks amazing :). Congrats! How it turns out comparing with JJN? Those are two Les Pauls that are really high on my list right now and I cannot make my mind.

Directly from the mouth of AMS sales.

I have to disagree because direct from AMS to me, they told me the Southern Fade will be available for pre-order mid October with a ship date in December.

I can only report what I was directly told on the phone. If it turns out to be otherwise then that will be awesome.

Man, Epiphone's got this all fudged up! And I was pleasantly surprised that my 59s frets were perfect, but from what the young man who shared the Beautiful photos, and videos with us, the Epiphone's notoriously bad fretwork has once again reared it's ugly head. Can Gibson do one single run of guitars without avoidable QC issues? Sad, :(

Yes, even though it's a decent price for a good spec'd Epi, it appears they are not without some issues. In Canada (Ontario tax is 13%) this guitar is $1241 Cn all in. As much as I like the look of it, I think I'm cancelling my order. I will wait until they release officially and start appearing in shops so I can get my hands on one.

Also for $250 more I can buy a Gibson 2013 Traditional back from a friend of mine....

Gibson need to get Epiphones QC sorted.

I said before compare Epi's to PRS SE's..PRS leave the EPi's in dust for QC fit and finish.

What ever the reason for the screw up with the launch of these it's a very poor show of management and organization on Gibson...Maybe JC needs to give Paul a call for some help

Even Squier has much better fretwork and overall QC than Epiphone. I picked up a Squier Contemporary HSS Strat (pearl white with black pickguard) new for $300 last year and the fretwork is perfect as is everything else on the guitar. It also came with a rosewood board with a 12" radius which they have now switched to Pau Ferro, but the model I have seems to be hard to find this year. It's a beautiful guitar, it looks like the Neal Schon "Lights" Strat, and is about equal in quality to my mim strats and I prefer the 12" radius over the 9.5" radius. By the way all of my mim strats have excellent fretwork, I just strung them up set the action and played them. So for all this talk about Gibson owning the factory over in China where the Epiphone models are made having excellent QC is bullshit as far as I'm concerned. Out of all the guitars I have owned Epiphone is at the top for QC issues, especially with crappy fretwork.
