Melville seemed to not care for this time of year: I think the second chapter of "Moby Dick" opens with the line, "It was a damp and dreary November in my soul."

I’m also glad when the festive season is over and the ravening hordes (tourists) go back to wherever they came from. In fact I hibernate until February and only leave the farm when I absolutely have to. The heat is like the snow, keeps you inside and that’s bloody boring.

Christmas is here again this year, it’s a lot of work but should be fun.

I saw a Christmas commercial on Halloween night. :wtf:

As far as the holidays go, I don't mind them, but when they're over I know I won't get a day off for 5 months. :laugh2:

I don't hate it... albeit expensive. I'll enjoy this year because the only person I hate is in jail until Feb.

Party on!

I'm in a happy relationship however post divorce or between relationships. I would dread it. Would always take off the day we had our office Christmas party. That said. I do enjoy the Black Friday craziness 2012 was epic.

Never liked the holidays, though I do like the three weeks off from work that we get at xmas. Perfect for travel.

I don't mind the holiday season. It is the one time a year I wish I'd have had kids though. <shrug>

man remember being a kid and the Sears catalog would come and it'd be like the size of a phone book? There'd be a toy section! A whole section!

...laying flat on the living room floor, flipping those glossy pages picking out what you wanted for Christmas and hoped you would get. Page after page of colorful 1980's plastic! :laugh2: It was like browsing through toy heaven. You didn't know what the next page would show you!

simpler times. No internet, the whole family in one room after dinner doing something,..reading a book or drawing or watching tv. Log burning in the fireplace. Seems like a 100 years ago. ...seems like a different family.

*sigh*

...I kind of miss one piece pajamas that had feet. :laugh2:

I like this time of year. I could do without the commercialization of Christmas and Thanksgiving though. I live about 6 miles away from the family farm where I grew up. My mother still lives there, my father passed away in 2007. My three remaining siblings all live within 15 miles of my place. I see all of them on a regular basis and we all get along great. It seems strange to me that more families don't seem to get along. I'm starting to think were an odd family.

Thats my version too . . .
:cheers2:

Then, when I got older and life started to get more complicated, not so much
I just want it to be over now.
Weirdly enough, rehabs and mental facilities have no rooms available in December
