Well the house is waking up now.. So, off to other things like breakfast.. Here is the Tweed Tone Match Amp. I have to play with the drive pedals and setting for a perfect match but I think this is the right direction with the Fender.

Donkey Honk? Yep...:thumb:

You can hear a complete and total change in the character of the tone.. As you would expect with a change in amps.

Btw., I just want to add this is such a cool thread idea! I don't have a modeler, but I'm having a lot of fun watching you guys get this thread up and off the ground.

Yes it is pretty cool. As I said, I just learned a boatload of stuff I can do now. :thumb:

I thought it might be a Fender, too at first. In my trying, to my ear, I was able to get closer with the Marshall. I'm gonna screw around with it again today if I have time. I turned my damn Helix off before I saved the patch, too. If I had a nickel for every time I did something like that:laugh2:

Here is the waveform for the Tweed Deluxe. As you can see, it is a much closes match. I will record a clip shortly.

OMG... what an incredible preset I just created.. WOW>. and thanks for the recommendation to try the Tweed.. :thumb::wow:

That doesn't sound like a Soldano to me rather, it sounds like a small 1x12 tube combo pushed to the point where it's about to explode. If I were trying to match this tone on a modeler (or even in real life), I'd be looking at old Gibson or Fender 1x12 combo amps (i.e. 1950's).

I hear some clipping and frequencies dropping out that you can only get from driving an old tweed style amp (I would include an early Marshall in that category - I get better old Marshall tones from a Fender sometimes  ).

A little fuzz (just a touch) or light OD (less than a TS - IMHO) gives that type of clipping.

Frank, does the Axe have a Coloursound OD pedal model? :hmm: :naughty:

I like the feedback you give on this. I'll tweak it around some. I think I got the right amp now.. I'll swap out the drive pedals, there are a ton here.. and see what I can come up with.

I am also going to grab a Class A amp sim and a 59 bassman... Tone Match with those and see where it goes.. In the mean time, I have created some pretty incredible presets that I can use all over the place.. :thumb:

Hey Rocco.. We need you bro.. What are you cooking up with that Helix.. I would also invite some of the AF guys over too. Where are you dudes? Let get some recordings up..

Lastly, lets not forget that what we hear on that recording is most likely the results of quite a bit of post production tweaks. I highly doubt we are listening to raw amp right onto the recording.

Ok. Last one on this tone.. I'm sick of the riff.. hahahah. I played it so much I can't play it anymore.. Almost forget it too.. hahahah

This is a Blues Jr. As you can see from the waveform the Tone Match is about the best so far. This one I believe I can further tweak to make the sound match completely.

Left side is source. Right side is my guitar. Matched.

So one of the presets I made for the Mcnaught and the Mule tune is now a killer tone for my Strat. Listen.

This is the preset I made with the blues jr. Listen to that chime..

Did I tell you how much I love this freaking Strat? No? Well I freaking love it.

Who says they need a TUBE amp?

Frank, that tone is awesome. You gotta share that on the Axe-Change and link it here.

Or just send it to me so I can mess with it too

I appreciate that John. No worries. I would do this for anyone calling me a friend. That's what we do around these parts. :thumb:

To be able to take a recorded guitar tone, patch it into the AXE FX direct via a USB midi connection and then model it.. Well, I don't know what you think but that is stupid incredible to me.. :thumb:
