IIRC, and I think I do, Peter Green is on record somewhere (Google is your friend...) stating he didn't particularly feel that that particular Les Paul was an especially good guitar, or good sounding guitar.

I shall now get my coat and head to the exit.

Sure, i read all of that...but to me that is so fixable with a good set up...unless the guitar has some serious issues...

What gauge strins where they using? .13's?

c'mon Nico you think these guys didn't have great techs? :hmm: Well PG might not have since he jacked up the neck pickup!! :laugh2::laugh2:

Na I think it had more to do with the clunky feel of the guitar itself. But man does it sound sweet. :thumb:

To me, that guitar came alive in Gary Moore hands, he made her scream and moan like no other.

You would scream and moan if you had Gary Moore's hand around your neck....:laugh2::laugh2::laugh2:

:thumb::thumb::thumb: and some extra smilies 'cos we know you like'm....:laugh2:

Possible, but he only ever used that one LP on all the Mac stuff. On their early trips to the US he could have picked up another Burst easily if he felt that way, but didn't. Danny Kirwin preferred a GT with p-90s.

Is it (or the sale offer) a fake?

How would anybody outside of the seller, know?

Hundreds of terrific recordings and videos say otherwise...

The door is right there on the left...keep going.....keep going.... :thumb: :naughty: :laugh2:

Is the neck thickness what they complaint about?? c'mon... how thick can that neck be? i actually favor thicker necks for their feel and tone enhancements.

The guitars has an amazing tone....those pickups are special, dont know how she would sound with different pickups, but with those PAF its really black magic!:naughty:

Larry was in line to buy that in the months after that video and IMO he would have been the perfect owner for it: he would have played it out regularly and in the Peter Green style.

Here's the photo taken at :40 in the video:

Well there was an issue with his supposed #2 or #3 LP and that Harris guy a while back, no? Anyway, they way you cautioned was as if there's something fishy that you know about this.

Perhaps...but I was answering the question that was posed.

He asked if the Les Paul, or the sale of it, was fake.

What could be iffy about it, out of curiousity? That's why I asked if fakery, for example, or misrepresentation of some sort was suspected.

Don't ever expect to get a question like that answered, on a forum.

.....if the guitar in this photo is the same one offered for sale in the OP, there are two things I can see that would right away make me walk away without getting a good 25% off what they're asking. Maybe even three things, but hard to tell from this angle.

The Les Paul is real It is not a secret Its 1.5. I think melvyn paid 2.0 for it from GM. Its the idea and history, year, wood, folklore of the guitar that makes it valuable. Babe Ruth's bat couldn't hit a ball today but is worth.. $$?? You could play this guitar tomorrow and it would sound incredible. Buy it, the rock and roll hall of fame wants it for a year then sell it for 2,000,000! A Japanese company offered Billy Gibbons 5,000,000 for Pearly and he turned them down.

Out of the blue a guy in Miami who knows someone I know calls and asks if I want the original 1959 Peter Green! It took me a minute to gather myself and pick up the phone I dropped. He said he just got it back not to long ago from Joe Bonamassa. He is asking a cool 1.5 followed by a bunch of zero's! He also has the long lost Lennon Rickenbacker. Just to get a call like that was WHOA!

That is so weird...I just had a dream about the Beano Burst.

Is that $2M a record purchase price for any Les Paul?
