Nico, I agree with guitarbob 100% on your suggestion of a Sean goldtop. I, too, think that guitar is butt ugly. And face it, when people are shelling out good money for guitars these days, they will be much more inclined to opt for a killer looking guitar, than an ugly one...no matter whose name is associated with each. Take the "Sandy" CC guitars, for example. People aren't buying them because of their association with Tom Wittrock, are they? No, they're buying them because they're very cool guitars. Period. Seans goldtop? Not so much. And that's no reflection on Sean, or how amazingly talented he was.

I know he's a good player but is he as marketable as EVH?

Also, if none of us could possibly understand him, why don't you try explaining what's so brilliant about him because evidently I can't comprehend his brilliance, despite listening to him before. Dying doesn't make you a better guitarist than you were before you were dead.

Also, I ask this of you Nico, do you understand what Van Halen are about?

OT: I doubt they're going to stop making historics over the next year and I'd be surprised at an EVH model, considering he has his own brand and is not known for playing Les Pauls.

Thank you Frank. This is the point I'm trying to make.

It's about marketability, not talent. Sean Costello does not have both, he only has(had) one of those.

Sure Frank, i love how gold tops look aged, but the kid is bitching about who Sean Costello's was, i bet he has not heard any of his songs, that i do not agree with.

Nah, I was saying about what his guitar looks like and how it's not marketable compared to anything EVH does.

I have the Moanin' for Molasses album and like him, although I think you are overrating him, he seems to be similar to Mike Bloomfield, in my opinion...

I don't really see what there is 'to get' about him. It's jazz influenced-blues playing, similar to the 60s and 50s players. It's hardly a unique style. He's a good player but not a legend on guitar and he's not marketable

Of course not, you could not possibly understand his music..... :slap:

You really want to start with me ? My music education if far greater than any you've ever had . Nico, I'm classicly trained Trumpet player (of 15 years) , so please tell me again what I couldn't understand about music . I play guitar for fun, It was my second instrument .

If you like , I'll sell you a shovel , so you can really dig a ditch for yourself .

Please continue on and show everyone just how smart you really are .

You mean you haven't heard of the almighty Sean Costello and his beautiful goldtop that'll have more demand than every guitar in the CC series so far?

:laugh2::laugh2::laugh2:

Isn't he Lou's son ?

I do reall seeing some about him a while back . But , who cares ? well , after Nico that is .

Yup , Just what Gibson needs to put out to bump sales up . A GT after the Plain top . That should put sales right threw the roof .

Sean was a great player of his style. He was good at imitation but hardly had his own voice. And his singing was horrible, like many Blues guitarists these days. The vocals are there to have space between solos.

Come to America and get a clue. Eddie has diehard fans here. Vinnie Vincent sucks.

I've been they a lot, but this has nothing to do with Eddie's amazing talent, i love him! i even have a replica of his Frankie Strat! But the one pickups burst he was using back in the day won't sell! this is my perception, you have yours about that gold top, so? what to continue?

Honestly, Nico...

This Sean guy is ok, but I could go to any blues bar in St Louis (any day of the week) and hear as good or better.

I don't hear anything earth-shattering, as most of his licks are SRV clone-ish. A decent player and singer, but nothing to write home about--sorry...my opinion.
