Still confused about all this, but I guess I don't visit the other forums enough to know. I feel bad for the guy that's on the bad end of the deal, though.

something went down at the beginning of the year involving the same member and a LP Classic. of course, there are two sides to every story and i am not choosing one....but it caused quite a stir over there.

I remember something about that too. I hardly ever go there anymore, but this is all very interesting.

i dont go there as much as i do here, but i still skim it. there is one member in particular who is quite entertaining, not because his posts are wrong, ridiculous,etc...but because he really gets a rise out of a bunch of other members. quite humourous. but i digress.

i read the whole thread on the Classic fiasco, interesting to say the least.

boleskinhouse :laugh2: Spelled a little differently. It says my join date was in '02, but I know for a fact I joined in '01. I don't know what happened there...

Back when I only had ONE Les Paul. Ah. Those were the days. String changes were MUCH easier! :laugh2::laugh2::laugh2:

didn't he have a classic for sale with issues similar to this scam.
he's always boasting about scoring off ebay for cheap from unknowing sellers.
perhaps he's also trolling for stupid buyers too.
for someone to claim as much knowledge as he always does, i find it hard to believe he had to find out it was a fake from these forums.

talk about wrecking your reputation.
and no more pickups?
i guess he's dropping out of sight, and will resurface later as if nothng ever happened.
or maybe he figures if he stops making the pickups, demand will increase
they always seemed overpriced to me for what they were.

That's horrible. Assuming something fishy is going on here, why put a Washed Cherry's serial number on a Vintage Sunburst? I mean, if the bad guy knows his Les Pauls, why not put that number on another Washed Cherry?

Think about it...a guitar like that, you know the owner will eventually contact Gibson for confirmation, right?

FYI...there is a thread elsewhere on this Forum which started long before the one on the other forum.

I hope that possibly there is a reasonable explanation.
Sadly, I am at a loss for one.
Unfortunately, it looks like I too will be taking a trip to
Nashville to have my guitar scanned. I am reasonably
sure it is genuine, but at this point I could not blame
anyone for having doubts. Certainly, I think it is necessary
to clear the air, and establish the truth. I am extremely
saddened and disappointed in someone I trusted and respected.
He has corrected his mistakes in the past, and I hope he will
do right, and correct this situation.

Can't say I was ever on the other forum, I tried registering, but it didn't happen. Found this place instead. Anyways, that's very concerning, especially that it's the same seller for both guitars...hopefully everything works out.

just figured out who this mystery person is......that would really suck if all this shit turned out to be true. what a blow to the credibility of a person with supposedly a lot of knowledge. could this be a blow to the credibility of the other forum? will people now be more skeptical about info given to them from "experts"?
